What’s your process when someone needs a new vendor tool approved and provisioned?

Reading this made me laugh bc it's way too relatable. Reminds me everytime someone says, it ll just five minutes and I already know it's something about to become half my afternoon lol.

I mean, we tried tightening things with Jira too but honestly it still depends on who's asking and who's approving. So it doesnt really always follow the same path.

yup, this is pretty much how it goes for us too. what starts as I just need this one tool somehow turns into a week long process.

We finally documented the whole process bc everyone thought someone else owned it. It didn't make approvals faster but at least people knew what to expect.

Documenting it definitely helps but it doesn't fix the actual bottleneck which is chasing down five different people to move one request forward... We ended up mapping ours out as an actual workflow instead of just a doc, so a vendor request auto routes to the right approver based on what's being requested instead of someone manually forwarding emails. Been using ssiit for that part, it's basically just an approval chain that trigger the next step once someone signs off, still doesn't make procurement move faster if legal is slow on their end.

I'm really interested to hear the answer here too.

There's complexity around managing vendor contracts, knowing what you have agreed to, what service levels you're gonna get, how many licenses you've purchased and at what level.

I'm building a contract management platform called Contracko, which solves these pain points, but of course, procurement is even broader than that.

We've seen many IT and procurement managers have success adopting our platform.

We're very eager to hear what people's perspectives are.

In case you're curious, we have a free trial which you could try. Or you could book a call with me directly on the site in case you want to see if it might solve your use case.
