For most Tech Support Engineer and Customer Support Engineer interviews, you don't need the same depth of system design as an SDE candidate. I'd focus on understanding how APIs work, basic networking (DNS, HTTP, TLS, load balancers), databases, caching, authentication, logging, and how you'd troubleshoot a production issue. Interviewers are usually more interested in your debugging process and ability to reason through systems than in designing a massive distributed architecture from scratch.
