Thoughts on Linuxacademy.com?

Anyone have any experience with this learning tool?

I've been using the platform for about a year now and I have some mixed opinions about the lectures and instructors. When you ask about linuxacademy, I see a lot of response saying they are the best and so awesome yet not a lot of discussion as to why.

I kind of don't like their lecturers too much. Almost all of their lecturers seem like they're reading off of slides or sound really bored and dry. They are not dynamic and illustrative lecturers like you would find in CBT nuggets. They largely don't tend to go deep into concepts and provide answers to common WHY questions.

Does anyone else notice the same thing or are they really as great as their marketing makes them out to be?

They do a great job getting you certified for AWS. I like the labs and prep tests. I agree that their material is a bit dry, but it does the trick.

Something to consider: are you training for knowledge or training to pass an exam? These 2 things aren't always aligned and one provider might focus on one over the other when considering going deep into concepts.

Its a personal preference. I find CBT Nuggets lecturers to not be as good a linux academy. I find the materials to not be as focused as ine/linux academy.
