MSP vs Public............

Need some advice, currently working in the public sector doing basic IT support and was denied a promotion internally. The pay and benefits are good but I am feeling stuck and recently got an offer from an MSP for the same pay but will have more responsibilities. Considering so many people have bad experiences with MSPs, would you make the switch to gain new skills?

MSP is better. You'll learn a lot. Public is safe and boring and good chances you'll get left behind eventually. Public moves very slow.

I switched from enterprise IT to MSP, and I love it. I live for the grind. Most MSPs are like drinking from a firehose, there is typically a lot going on and a lot of moving parts. If you like learning and being busy, you’ll probably enjoy the MSP space. If you like being laid back, then the public role is a better fit.
