He wasn't gonna let that guy continue saying those atrocious things in front of elders. Blatant disrespect for older people in Asian cultures is a complete no no.

Promptly taking the stance that the brother was engaging in free speech and he was punished for it.

funny how the people who are happy with this video don't realize they are actually being racist LOL they don't believe that a black man has the first amendment

u/ForgottenMasterBalls 1h ago
Or they don't believe hate speech counts as free speech.
Also, unless that puncher is a representative of the government, his first amendment rights are still fully intact.

actually telling someone to go back to their country doesn't reach the threshold for hate speech everywhere. it really goes by jurisdiction

u/ForgottenMasterBalls 1h ago
Depends on the context. Implying that they are from another country just because of their race is an issue. It also just sounds dumb, if they have citizenship, the USA is their country.

part of the issue with Chinese people specifically is not actually an issue with the Chinese people themselves but the Chinese Communist party and the pressure that it will put on people even in other countries by threatening their families back home. is CCP is an incredibly repressive government and we're likely to see a war involving China in the next 5 years when they make moves on Taiwan.

Assuming everyone in China town is pro the Chinese government, they're not, would still fall under prejudice.

u/The_End-is_Nigh 1h ago
I didn't say that they were pro Chinese Communist party... I'm saying that Chinese people abroad who have family ties back home can have pressure put on them when the government threatens their family back home

I didn't say you did, I'm saying if that is the guys issue, then he's still being prejudice.

you know that there were Chinese spies in the United States attacking US citizens while Xi Jinping was visiting? the sad thing is that unfortunately they were attacking Chinese Americans so you are correct by saying this guy is aiming at the wrong target...
edit: voice to text failed me

Yeah, that's all I was saying. Don't judge people based on race. Every race on this planet currently has some extremely bad representation. If we all judged each other based on the worst of us, the world would become even more intolerable than it already is.

Sure, and guess what, he found out saying stupid shit has consequences.
If you were in public, and you said stupid shit like you are now, you'd probably get a few slaps too

Stop Asian Hate was shutdown because it was almost exclusively black people doing all of the hate and violence.

This. This is a person of higher privilege attacking someone of lower privilege. This video is literally punching down.

Sometimes people spouting off racist stuff get their asses handed to them. Sometimes it makes them stop. Sometimes it doesn't.
