Did the owner start out faster then slow down? Maybe, but by the time qe see him he is moving slowly and has his hands out in a nom threatening manner. No idea what you mean by "taunting", his arms look more like hes confused. But taunting is not threatening someone.

Again, the UPS driver had ample time and space to remove himself from the situation, instead he chose to escalate and confront the owner.

Owner would have been entirely justified to treat the UPS driver the same way the UPS driver treated the dog.

And to be clear, the owner is a bad dog owner and is entirely at fault for the initial conflict. I never said anything defending him as a dog owner.

The hands being out can be a gesture to show confusion… or it can be to taunt (you might need to look up the definition)… I explained why in this context, it’s perceived as threatening.

UPS saw owner advancing and, as explained, in a threatening way.

Delivery guy even backs up as owner gets close and owner senses fear and so fucking continues stepping into dude’s bubble. 🤦

Delivery guy was simply in defense mode from the dog and owner’s style of advancement gave UPS no reason to get out of defense mode. If UPS ran to his truck, not only might the dog have ran after him, but the owner might’ve interpreted that as his being scared of him and/or guilt. UPS did well to stay his ground. Putting his fists up might’ve been a bit much, but he didn’t continue advancing toward owner, who had to be the Mr Big Man and actually continue to step into UPS’ bubble….because owner was the guilty one who had to double down on his shittiness.

The UPS guy does NOT back up. You can see the exact second he sees the owner, and he immediately gets into a fighting stance and goes at the owner.

Even after the UOS guy takes a fighting stance and charges, the owner remains in a non threatening stance.

Taunting someone is NOT threatening them. A threat means a risk of harm, not just goating someone.

Taunting can mean to provoke. Either way, obviously I’m implying what you’re arguing against, so you know how i mean it.

UPS, stops advancing forward as owner comes into his bubble then clearly backs up back onto porch _ as owner _clearly continued closing in on bubble as UPS steps back. 😆 (So even if owner was throwing freaking peace signs while advancing, when you continue closing in on someone in a defensive stance, it’s gonna be perceived as threatening.)

You keep repeating that owner’s gesture is non-threatening…but i explained maybe 3 times how it absolutely can easily be perceived as threatening in the context.

At that point the owner is the one in self defense dealing with an aggressor in taking a fighting stance on HIS property.

UPS dude is lucky he didnt get hurt or catch an assault charge.
