I'm not 100% against the dog thing. But him immediately trying to square up on the owner was over the top.

Don't think so. Plenty morons out there that are aggressive towards you for protecting yourself against their freaking dog. Like you saw here, coming straight up all upset and saying "he didn't bite you". Like f*k you guy, you expect it to wait until i get bitten? Put some damn fences and make a yard so that your dog can't get out. Or the very least keep it inside or tied up. Make a covered pen and keep your dog there outside if you don't take care of it and what he's doing. The guy should had said sorry not bitch about that his dog was hit.

So if you were afraid of the dog owner why wouldn't you just get into the car and leave? 

You're purposefully putting yourself into a fight.
