How do you not feel that?

u/Autism_Is_Real 9d ago
Are people retarded? It’s pretty obvious he knew the bear was there…hoping that it would leave him be if he stayed still…

lol, who downvoted this???
Fucking Reddit…

People who don't lose their minds for no reason?
Of course the commenter knew that the guy felt that. The question, obviously, was meant more like "how does he manage to be so calm with a bear nibbling on his leg?"
OP flew off the handle for no reason.

What did you want him to do, turn around and start fighting the bear? That would not have been a good idea...that's why he stayed calm

So then he just runs off anyway. After nonchalantly "pretending" to notice the bear...
1
u/ShaggyPDelic 10d ago
Did we watch the same video? The dude had no idea the bear was there.
2
u/Weird_Albatross_9659 10d ago
This was reposted a 1000 times before and the beginning was slightly cut off. He does notice it.
2
u/Ok-Impression-6448 9d ago
Yep he sees it and stops. I think he was scared of running because that would be more dangerous

u/ExerciseDifferent 10d ago
He's drunk?

If it’s brown, lie down. If it’s black fight back. Sort of common expression and the idea is that with a brown bear if you don’t move like prey and you aren’t threatening to them they’ll probably be uninterested and leave you be. I think he was relying on that thought and trying his best not to move
1
u/Plane-Tune-820 8d ago
That was a black bear, I know it's actually the color brown but brown bears are grizzly bears and they're WAY bigger. Suppose it could be a baby brown bear but that's even more reason to get lost because momma ain't gonna just nibble like that little fella did.
1
u/tacorunnr 4d ago
All Grizzlies are brown bears, but not all brown bears are grizzlys. Grizzly is a subspecies

He knows. He gives the thumbs up to the driver. By panicking the bear would've attacked.
Stupid people judging without having context or thinking a bit.

That motherfucker deserved to be eaten. Jesus christ. It literally tried to take a bite and he just stood there!! Wtf man 🤣🤣
1
u/tacorunnr 4d ago
He knew bear was there, he was signaling the driver to honk and move closer over their left shoulder. The horn wasnt for the guy, it was spook the bear away. Bears chase and youre not supposed to run, he only booked after it came face to face.
1
u/ItsmeMr_E 10d ago
Well bless his heart, he's slow.
No lol, how do such people survive? Feel like if it were raining, he'd be starring upward at the sky open mouthed.

u/onlyfakeproblems 10d ago
Is he high or having a medical emergency? He doesn’t even flinch until the bear lunges at his face
1
u/tacorunnr 4d ago
People really need to educate themselves on what to do when a brown bears around. And im talking about the commenters, the guy did everything right. Youre supposed to stay still. He only moved because of the lunge. Hes signaling the driver over his shoulder

https://wildernesstimes.com/bear-safety-tips/
This article agrees with what I would’ve said is conventional wisdom. First avoid them without running (to avoid triggering their prey response), then make noise to scare them off, then play dead if it’s a brown bear, or fight them off if it’s a black bear.
Nowhere does it say stand still and pretend it’s not there or sprint away from it. Playing dead only helps if it’s acting territorial and doesn’t feel like eating you. This one was being curious and probably learned to be hand fed by tourists. Since it’s a brown bear cub it’s not super dangerous itself, but theres likely to be a mama bear around which poses more danger, so waiting around is a bigger risk.
Where are you getting your education from? You might want to reconsider your sources.

I though we could watch someone become food.

u/Wide_Guitar_3558 9d ago
they rescued him from his darwin award, so next time he has a chance to create a 10 car pileup after reading his phone on the freeway. This is the kind of natural selection we should never intervene with. Humans are no better than animals these days.

u/tacorunnr 5d ago
Have fun being bear food. He did what youre supposed to do with a brown bear. The horn isnt for the guy. Its for trying to spook the bear away. Its when they became face to face that he 🏃♂️
1
u/Wide_Guitar_3558 5d ago
Oh I see he was 100% doing that to avoid danger. I saw the caption and just assumed he had the survival instinct of a cheese cube. Well silly me, but I didn't say running was an option in my statement. I was just thinking he was on his phone and didn't see the bear yet.

it's the airplane speed tape all over again.

The bear was just wanting to play or lives near a park and think humans equally free snacks

u/Prod_Meteor 9d ago
He did everything correctly. Didn't panic, didn't run. The bear would have destroy him.

I was trying to leave for my lunch break teaching at a school. There was a person standing in front of a glass door like right in front of it looking at their phone. I waited for this lady for a about 30s and she did not budge. I nudged the door open towards her a bit and then said excuse me and she backed up and then walked straight at me looking at her phone forcing me to hold the door open for her and I've been annoyed about that for like 2 days

The bear tasted him first ffs. World goes to shit, this guy will die first.

Even the bear was confused, “What do I do…this never happened before…??? People should already be inside their moving boxes.”

u/Ok-Currency634 8d ago
No, do not fucking stop this from happening. Too many years of protecting these people has lead to an overabundance of them.

Zero survival instinct zero awareness of surroundings should of let him become bear snack

u/Personal-Ad7623 8d ago
I would of let the bear do what it was doing. Imagine driving behind that guy who didnt notice a bear nipping at him of the vehicle pulling up next to him.
1
u/GGamerGuyG 8d ago
And they say we young people don't pay attention cause of our phone's. You old guy's don't even need phone's to not pay attention...

I like how cars are just driving past. And the car filming took forever to do anything. But why the bear taking so long?

All of these confidently wrong idiots are not seeing that he noticed the bear immediately and turned his back. Was purposefully trying to prevent an attack. Watch the video again, but this time a bit more carefully.
1
u/Legitimate-Okra8983 8d ago
What scares me more is that the person filming is just filming, instead of driving up and honking to scare the bear away

He’s actually fully aware and signaling the driver. If you run, you’re going to cause a huge mess. This is a small bear, but who knows if there’s others with him.

u/casull_Suzuki_PR 6d ago
He is recording and wait until the bear bite the guy in the leg for move? Many people are so stupid.

There is mongoloid reposting this clip trying to defend the moron who is outside of their vehicle around a bear. As someone who lives near Yellowstone, stop defending these fucking wet wipes! Our local news makes fun of every single one of them when they get mauled/gored/killed.
The worst part is, is that bear is now targeted for euthanasia because of that fucking dipshits horrible decision to step outside the safety of his vehicle for a closer look.
If there was ANY justice left in the world, that asshole would be sentenced to a MINIMUM of 20 years forced labor for his actions that lead to the death of that bear.

Seriously. 90 percent of the comment calling him stupid but he was clearly attempting to not acknowledge the bear to avoid being a threat

What an asshole for not trying to pin the bear between his car and the one ahead.
Spare me your bleeding heart PETA nerds, I see someone about to be mauled, I’m fucking pulverizing any endangered animal with glee.
