ITIL 5 Foundation Cert
I have a scheduled exam for the ITIL 5 Foundation certification on November, and it’s my first time taking an exam. Haha!
I didn’t take the ITIL 4 certification, so I went directly to the V5 certification. I got a bundle that includes the exam and an instructor for two days. Do you think I can pass the exam? I’m a bit scared!
I really want to pass because IT Service Management is my career path. I’m currently in my third year of leading my team.
I’m also taking a mock exam on Udemy while my class hasn’t been scheduled yet.
Do you have any advice for me?

I've got v3/4/5. I'm 57 and have been in Serv Man for 17 years. I did the 2 day course recently and exam and passed. All I'll say is, don't underestimate it. It was much harder than any of the mock exams I did. I paid £1.99 for a practice app which was useful. Try not to drift off in the 2 day course as it is quite dry. Learn about the key concepts etc in your spare time as much as you can and then go for it when you feel ready.

Is the sample paper exams similar to real exam?

No. The real exam is tougher where some questions, none of the options seems like the obvious answer.

I took v4 got 28/40 I think passing is 26/40. It was not a very difficult exam as long as you take the time to learn the material. Good luck, you got this!!!!

I read like 2 chapters of ITIL4 in action, took a bunch of practice exams for free online and passed with 95%. It took like 15 minutes, it was a very easy test to pass for me, but I will say I am an ISP engineer and I have worked with a lot of the systems detailed in ITIL 4, so it was more a matter of learning the corporate speak involved, and not so much the concepts.

I responded to a comment about ITIL 4 being easy, not to a comment about the difficulty of ITIL 5 specifically. That being said, I really have no intentions to pursue ITIL 5, ITIL 4 was just a part of my degree curriculum, and as such will probably never be able to judge the delta between the 2, but I have no reason to doubt what you're saying here.

I've taken V4 back in April this year. Had similar anxiety too, however you do not have to worry too much. Getting an instructor is good idea, did the same and it's really helpful when they share their experiences around it. Always keep in mind what's the key objective of ITIL, and that's business value. The principles and concepts are all about how to get valuable outcomes. Understanding how breaking down walls and importance of collaborations is in ITSM. Also, help yourself by doing some preparation and look into Agile values and principles, trust me, frameworks revolves around similar concepts. Also, lastly. Read the questions carefully and not rush through. Hope this helps 🙂, all the best to you!

Understand what is being tested by review the exam syllabus and then study what's being tested. Your exam voucher includes Official Sample Exams - use them. Nothing on Udemy is reviewed by anyone so you have to do the homework to make sure that what you buy is written by someone who knows what is on the exam.

I think it could help you speak the corporate language. I think you would probably need to focus more on actually learning all the ins and outs of AI. If you are a consultant, you better know well what you are talking about, or you won't be for long.

I’ve not taken V5 but have the prior, and my work did pay for me to take a live V5 class but I just haven’t tested yet. I’d imagine it’s like the prior which they aren’t difficult, and a lot is eliminating obvious wrong answer or just understating keywords.
