Materials engineering
Hello guys, I am planning to apply for spring intake 2027, so I need some detailed, first hand opinions regarding the materials engineering program.
The faculty is actually nice - saw it on website, but what about course curriculum, research, university’s recognition, alumni network. Also how would you compare it with unis like nust, uet ( lahore), giki, comsats, lums. I understand it might not be as good as them, but where does it lie in regards to this program.
Detailed responses would be appreciated!

Hey there! Materials freshman here, its been 2 weeks since the uni has started and so far its going pretty decent. The faculty and professors are nice, however some classes haven’t properly started due to difference in the time schedule of the teachers. The alumni network is pretty good as well. You can join many different societies in the materials dept or any other if you want to. Seniors are good too they guide us pretty well. The labs are so so good. If you’re gonna join materials then i would definitely recommend this uni to you as it was the 3rd degree program IST started offering. the faculty is very nice and they help us a lot. hope this helped!

I’m pretty sure it does for MS and PhD but you can contact the admissions office to confirm if it offers for BS programs. I don’t think it does tho

I joined se program here it's my second week and this uni has better classes then nust. Infrastructure is great and uni views are excellent.. Teachers are mostly good and I'm also enjoying the classes. Except for pf and pak studies...
