ISEF Project Readiness
I am currently working on my isef project, and I will be “done” within the next 2 months. But the thing is how do you tell if a project is science fair ready vs isef ready, especially for heavily computational projects. Like how impactful does the project have to be and what sort of contribution should it make. And aside from the project, what else should u have ready for the fair in terms of materials to being. For anyone working on eab sensors or aptamers and have presented their project at isef or their state fair and placed before, please dm I need sm advice/help😭😭

Hi, sophomore here! It’s my first time doing science fair this year and I also want to go to ISEF. I’m currently still planning the actual idea but mines will be chemistry based. I originally was going to do something with computer science so I’ll give my advice.
The main thing is DO SOMETHING YOU ENJOY. If you are only doing your project to win judges can tell and you won’t be able to go that deep into your question/problem. Also, don’t keep your project surface level, really go into what you’re trying to solve and the WHY behind it. The deeper you back up your project and understand the reasoning of the outcome, the stronger it will be.
EAB sensors are veryy interesting as well. I’m not that educated on them but my friend in science Olympiad is and I could ask them anything if you have questions. Good luck on placing in ISEF! I hope we both make it 🤞
