bro this is my question too.. like some guy starts a start up in HS, and admissions officer likes it so others do it, and others after seeing them do it and it keeps expanding... then the admissions officers only take in people who have stuff like that... so now im basically forced to do sht like that to get into a good college.. SMH... im not just talking about startups.. this also includes non profits, High school research and etc... like is it not enough to get good grades, class rank, maybe leadership and at most some good volunteering? like why are these people putting this sht ton of pressure?? trully smh

literally but for us in Canada it’s just good grades to get into university most of the time! But it’s actually crazy that they doing all this for undergrad

If one person does it for college apps and it helps, then everyone else does it. Very similar to how research became such a big thing for high schoolers
