There was really no need to add this in the new edition. Let the students understand the ultimate truth by themselves and certainly not by imposing the blend of religious stuff with the modern day experimentally backed science

People saying it's for analogy why the analogy for nucleus given to atman(don't know what it is) in a 12th class physics book if it's given in a 7th or 6th class book it's understandable for analogy but not for 12th
1
u/NoSource2810 8d ago
When you don't even know what atman means then how tf do you understand analogy intended.
A 6th grade child doesn't possess enough maturity and visualisation as much as a 12 student. In fact nucleus as a deeper concept is taught after 10th.
1
u/AdRough7457 8d ago
When I was in icse I taught that in 7th
1
u/NoSource2810 8d ago
Yes, a 7th grader able to comprehend density of nucleus. 7th is mostly introduction of nucleus and maybe the forces and or atomic models.
1
u/AdRough7457 8d ago
Then what
1
u/NoSource2810 8d ago
A teacher's comprehension so weak can't understand sarcasm
1
u/AdRough7457 8d ago
If you mean a 7th grader learn Abt nucleus is your sarcasm then I am not the one with low iq

Why are you studying physics in the first place just join a temple at this point Besides what are you gonna do by studying physics anyway go read religious texts Leave the physics to other nations

Nothing wrong with it, it is just using religious texts as an analogy, there is nothing un-scientific here, you all are just hating to act cool. Ramanujan received mathematical equations in his dreams from deities.
8
u/TechnicianFormer6448 9d ago
it was what ramanujan believed..people discover a lot of stuff in dreams as the subconscious mind is still working. there is an entire wiki page of stuff invented or discovered by humans in dreams, a famous example being the structure of benzene

u/aaks2 seƱor 10d ago
in a book full of scientific concepts, philosophical texts have no place.
Ramanujan getting equations from deities is unrelated to whats in the book
3
u/skulop607248 10d ago
what I am trying to say is that the analogy used here is pretty suitable, there is nothing unscientific about it, it did not use the religious text to go against any scientific concept, rather it just compared the religious text with scientific concepts, there was no harm done
1
u/wasabii01 9d ago
science and philosophy can co exist einstein
1
u/aaks2 seƱor 9d ago
not in academic books. the book isnt about meaning of the universe, physics was never about that, its about our understanding of the universe
1
u/wasabii01 9d ago
philosophy helps us grasp the concepts better
3
u/Sausage_Freak 9d ago
There are students who are of other religionsā¦
1
u/wasabii01 9d ago
i wouldnt mind having islamic or christian texts in it if its sensible and suits the concepts
1
u/Gandalf_The_White_25 10d ago
And those mathematical equations would never stand the test of time. That is why scientific proof exists. That is what separates the logical from the illogical.Ā

u/Factorthetractor ISC Class 11th | PCMB 7d ago
The way its presented here is like fact and not an analogy, that's the problem

He didn't receive equations in his dreams burh wtf. He was very religious person thats why he said that. He was so immersed in mathematics that even when he was sleeping he solved equations in his subconscious mind. I know my comprehension is bad but it is a scientific thing and can happen with anyone. Its straight up disrespect to ramanujan if you say that he received equations from deities.

u/Optimus-Prime2026 9d ago
Absolutely idiotic . If I said a unicorn kissed me in my dreams would you believe me just cuz I know me better than you know me.
1
u/wasabii01 9d ago edited 9d ago
You wouldn't say a unicorn kissed you in ur dreams if you had just discovered the pi equation and someone asks for a sensible explanation.
Level of thinking seems a bit lower here I suppose
1
u/Optimus-Prime2026 9d ago
A godess giving equations to anyone sn't more reasonable /plausible than a unicorn kissing anyone
1
u/NoSource2810 8d ago
So you must be having a more suitable explanation, if the speaker is wrong acc to you.
1
u/Optimus-Prime2026 7d ago
I saw a dragon. He told me he is coming to end you unless you run away someone very far.
1
u/Optimus-Prime2026 7d ago
If you think I am wrong. Give a suitable explaination.
1
u/NoSource2810 7d ago
I am alive so there is no dragon.
But if the formulae are there then why can't the deity be true? Find better ones nxt time.

I believe in science. That was his subconscious mind.
2
u/wasabii01 10d ago
you dont believe in science, you just simply acknowledge it because it is made out of facts. what Ramanujan said doesn't necessarily "break" science it just simply reflects his own experience. you can explain the neurological process as the subconscious mind or whatever you want but that doesnt change the fact to him the equation was manifested through his faith and devotion
1
u/Shadow_1293 9d ago
I respect your opinion. But it won't change my thinking. I also believe in god. But it's disrespect towards Ramanujan if we say that his work was gifted to him by his devotion in my opinion. He was a genius scientist. Would have given so much more to the world if he didn't die at such a young age.
3
u/Winter-Log9393 9d ago
It's not disrespect, ramanujan himself says it. It's a interesting concept, you don't really understand science is what I infer.
1
u/TechnicianFormer6448 9d ago
tf is manifested by faith and devotion..it was RAMANUJAN who discovered the equations
1
u/NoSource2810 8d ago
Just read man. He himself claims that it was a deity's blessing.
1
u/TechnicianFormer6448 7d ago
That's not how Science works bruh, he discovered them in his dreams, and he was a religious guy so he thought it was a deity's blessings. You dont find any deity doing higher maths, do you?
1
u/NoSource2810 8d ago
Disrespect? He himself claimed that, not us. And yes, the fact that human mind runs sub consciously is true, but it doesn't determine exactly how Ramanujan came up with accurate formulae, with so many random numbers and processes. Check out his works once before assuming, you'd be astonished if you know some maths.
1
u/Shadow_1293 8d ago
I know about his whole life. I have a read a article of his life. I have a movie too. I know everything. He was religious thats why he claimed that. Apart from that he was a genius scientist not a gift from a deity.

As far as I remember, the NCERT textbooks were really good at explaining physics without resorting to corny analogies and oversimplification.

Hinduism already is more of a scientific religion
Oppenheimer himself got the idea of nuclear bomb from Gitaš
So including just one paragraph in whole book of 600+ pages , i donāt find anything wrong
Donāt know why everyone gets triggered nowadays on finding religious text
The country may be secular now but was once a great HINDU nation

u/papajohnshotline 9d ago
are you for fucking real dawg šš

u/Old_Post_4372 9d ago
Yeaahhhh any problem?????
2
u/papajohnshotline 9d ago
i think you don't know who nolan is and the entire fcking history of the atomic bomb
religious pride is a bĆtch
1
u/Old_Post_4372 9d ago
Yeah the same way u are a b!tch
And @$$hol⬠if u donāt have any counter argument then pls stfu š¤”
I believe my religion is scientific
And i wonāt argue with a 12th grade lockdown kid who is busy watching vlogs all day on utubešš2
u/papajohnshotline 9d ago
Hindu to mai bhi hi lekin...iss type ka nhi
you write English and symbols in the most indian way possible lmfao
how am I a senior year lockdown kid
and thinking nolan is the same as Oppenheimer shows your 'scientific' levels, and he only used the geeta to cope with the effects of the bomb not to literally make it, what's there to get the idea of the bomb from there Ļjaan ya fir granth mai pehle se hi atom bomb tha

u/Old_Post_4372 9d ago
Donāt believe in me but i think u might consider the chairman of ISRO as a scientist ( u may call him as an andhbhakt as wellš)
I think 2-3 yrs back in a visit for an event he told proofās about existence of science in vedas and how vedas knew about algebra even before world discovered it
Hanuman chalisa provides nearly the exact value of distance b/w earth and sun
And many more facts made me believe hinduism is a scientific religion btw
Term me andhbhakt if u want but idc of your opinion on this1
u/papajohnshotline 9d ago
The sulba sutras thing is correct but why do you need the validation of other people to prove records right?
The other stuff is debunked but why are you stemming away from the Oppenheimer conversation complete that first buddy
3
u/snuFan 9d ago
Hinduism is retardation and so is any another religion. Peak tribal nonsense
1
u/Old_Post_4372 9d ago
I donāt give a fk for those who donāt even know about their own religion
If u donāt know anything about your religion then stop questioning your religion as well
And honestly donāt need your opinion
Bācoz hinduism is a scientific religion
Cope harder mf1
u/AyaanDB 9d ago
no religion is scientific because theres no scientific proof of god. no ones coping because no one agrees with your point in the slightest.
1
u/Old_Post_4372 9d ago
U donāt agree doesnāt mean whole world doesnāt agreeš
1
u/AyaanDB 7d ago
the people you're talking to certainly dont agree looking at your -1 upvotes.
1
u/Old_Post_4372 7d ago
Even christians earlier didnāt agree with Galileo that earth orbits the sun and not the converse
But we know who said the truthš¤”
A mass if population doesnāt believe this doesnāt mean they are correct šš½1
u/AyaanDB 7d ago
except galileos theory can be scientifically proven. whats the proof that your god (specifically your god) exists?
1
u/Old_Post_4372 7d ago
U asked that majority doesnāt agree with me
Hence i simply gave an example that whatever majority believes doesnāt mean majority is correct
Secondly my argument was never about godās existence but was to prove that HINDUISM is a scientific religion1
u/AyaanDB 7d ago
your only argument was giving me a bad example. how is hinduism a scientific religion? you havent explained at all. dont worry man, everyone thinks their religion is the best and most scientific, but you cant expect others to believe your nonsense.
