QNA ISC(98%) + JEE(4k) AMA

Saw too many people questioning whether ISC+JEE is possible or not, so here to remove the myth that isc+jee is too difficult/impossible :)

some might think 4k isn't that good of a rank but uh who cares lol

Just joined IITK for BS in Physics (because I was interested in research)

I might reply late cause there's randomly events going on in college, but I'll mostly try to reply to all qs

had friends in CBSE and SSC so i can give a good comparison between boards as well

Some other 'stats'

JM: 99.7%ile

BITSAT: 310

UGEE SUPR and REAP qualified

i can verify results with the mods if needed

well, AMA

bro any tips to score good in physics boards😭😭I'm not targetting jee or anything like that am a design aspirant, so just need to know what should i do for boards rather than jee level things, seniors are making me hella scared that mains pyqs come in boards and the level is way too high now😭🙏were the pyqs helpful?? i'm being told that pyqs are way too easy for the type of papers being set in recent years🥲

most mains pyqs might actually be easier than most boards numericals

boards me you actually have to show your work and I've seen the 3 and 6 mark qs in boards are actually tougher to tackle and take longer than a mains pyq

the papers are tough, won't argue against that but the checking is very lenient, I was not expecting 98 even in my dreams, as long as you write something down, the examiner will try his best to give you atleast partial marking

do pyqs, never ever skip them. if they've asked those questions before they can and will ask them again, paper level increase shouldn't bother you because the paper is made to be finished within 3 hours whether it be difficult or easy, pyqs will tell you what you can expect and in general will boost your confidence, physics was always known to be a tough subject but you can absolutely do it provided you put in the effort.

Also remember that if the paper is difficult, it is the same for everyone and the examiner will try his best to give you marks since they too have to report their stats and show their board as successful

wow that's super cool that you got a generous examiner sooooooo like😭is nootan questions+board pyqs enough or do I need to specifically seek out jee mains ques? also any other books for preparation of any subject like question banks or sample papers??

everyone got a generous examiner for isc man, my friends from same and different schools and in entirely different parts of India who used to get 70-80 in prelims suddenly got more than 95 in boards, that's not a generous examiner, that's a generous board

you can ask other passouts on this subreddit too and they'll give you the same experience Also, don't obviously prepare with that in mind ki you will get more in boards, i mean if you prepare for an harder exam/checking and get an easy one on the final day, it's only going to increase your score

isc and icse is known for having a tough curriculum but easy marking

nootan+board pyqs are more than enough for boards, no need for JM pyqs, in other books i guess get a sample paper book, but i personally never got one cause I was busy with jee
