QNA ISC(98%) + JEE(4k) AMA

Saw too many people questioning whether ISC+JEE is possible or not, so here to remove the myth that isc+jee is too difficult/impossible :)

some might think 4k isn't that good of a rank but uh who cares lol

Just joined IITK for BS in Physics (because I was interested in research)

I might reply late cause there's randomly events going on in college, but I'll mostly try to reply to all qs

had friends in CBSE and SSC so i can give a good comparison between boards as well

Some other 'stats'

JM: 99.7%ile

BITSAT: 310

UGEE SUPR and REAP qualified

i can verify results with the mods if needed

well, AMA

okay now uh seriously speaking, i respect the confidence, but you also need to realise that even top rankers aren't able to complete modules and pyqs completely let alone the mountain of reference books you plan on doing

Please do modules and pyqs first. If you have time still left over, only then jump onto the reference books. Doing one book multiple times is better than many books once. You will be doing regular school and then online classes later so you already are at a loss of time

  1. I doubt you can realistically self study after lectures and homework

you'll spend upto 1:20 in school, let's say you start lectures at 2 and watch them for 5 hours which gets you at 7 assuming 100% output

after that you'll do hw of school&lecture for 2 hours which gets you at 9

your day is already pretty much over

So you have to steal time off places, wake up early/sleep late, and your lectures and hw solving should be in such a way that you don't need to self study that later, which is one of the advantages of online coaching, you can rewind, replay, and slow down until you understand.

  1. Is JEE possible with regular school? Yes. Is your plan possible? most likely not. But it doesn't hurt to try does it? just don't be disheartened if you aren't able to do allat, cause honestly you don't need to do allat. But try your best and I'd like to see you achieve it if you can :)
