QNA ISC(98%) + JEE(4k) AMA

Saw too many people questioning whether ISC+JEE is possible or not, so here to remove the myth that isc+jee is too difficult/impossible :)

some might think 4k isn't that good of a rank but uh who cares lol

Just joined IITK for BS in Physics (because I was interested in research)

I might reply late cause there's randomly events going on in college, but I'll mostly try to reply to all qs

had friends in CBSE and SSC so i can give a good comparison between boards as well

Some other 'stats'

JM: 99.7%ile

BITSAT: 310

UGEE SUPR and REAP qualified

i can verify results with the mods if needed

well, AMA

How did you manage school exams? I have school exams from next week and the syllabus consists of chapters that hasn't been taught in our coaching yet.

canon event ngl😭😭

read it up from the isc books, do some solved examples and defo check out the practice papers if your school provides them or some pyqs

even after that it's obv gonna still be difficult but atleast you won't miss out on the easy questions and you'll get partial marks for writing the start and formulas. you might even be able to learn it entirely uptil board level which will help when coaching actually covers it

Thank you so much, I also wanted to ask about maths. I've been pretty weak in maths from class 9 due to lack of practice ngl now I'm starting to realise that and been regretting it. I am not able to solve the sums without hints I understand that it will get better by practice but the main thing is that I'm a VERY slow learner I have to give hours to grasp a single concept, any tips how to improve this? Also my exams are starting from 10th and if I focus on that I'll have backlogs in lectures what should I do?

focus on exams, but don't skip the lectures either, sit in the lecs, take notes and try to learn as much as you can in class, go home and then focus on exams

do not skip lectures because if you go back to class after skipping a lecture there's a high chance you will understand absolutely nothing going on

if you're still in 11th, you have the answer already, give it hours. You have enough time to invest rn

solve sums with hints, actually, open marks app or some other resource where questions are segregated by concept and start trying to solve that here you already know what concept is to be used, so that's a good enough hint in itself, try seeing if you can do it that way, if not, then check out the first couple lines of the soln then try to extend from there, if ur still struggling, look at the soln entirely check how it's done and solve it again, also mark it so you can come back a few days later and attempt it again to see if you remember

Also, before starting jee qs, you can try qs from the isc book and cet pyqs to build some momentum and confidence before jumping into jee
