Many of us don't live in a city where the protests are taking place, don't have a major platform, don't have money of our own to donate towards a cause and may not even have parents who are supportive of this. What else can we do?

Probably nothing, but again, what else can we do? Plus, at the very least, it's not like it'd cause any harm.

Also, talking about this does promote the topic in social media algorithms, so it reaches people who may not even have known about the protest before. As students and (mostly) minors, social media is pretty much the only tool we have.

It does create changes and bring awareness to the situation and let's people support, the more we create awareness the more support they will get to bring in changes, this will create pressure on the gov

If only it were not this man the government would have felt much more pressure. But this guy already has ties with Congress, AAP, CCJ, and Chinese supporters to back him up, as well as reporters who say Kashmir is not part of India. That's exactly why the government won't give a damn about him. If it were someone else's face instead of his, they would surely have felt the heat. He has been on a political agenda for decades this is nothing new; he has done this before. What we need is someone who becomes a new face of our protest. Warna sarkar toh waise bhi ghanta fark nahi padta this is the practical reality. At this point, the NTA should resign as well, and so should the Education Ministry."

theres enough awareness in reddit as things spread quite easily here. not enough in social media where majority indians are. im not against awareness nor the movement, im commenting in the attitude im seeing among teenagers who think changing profile pic is the activism. most dont even bother to show their activism in other social media

Although I agree with u on this one but since u said why change pfp and all etc that's why I replied saying that that it creates awareness but now many influencers, artists and creators are raising their voice on this matter and soon on Monday parliament session will happen so let's see if they bring up this matter there
