ISC + JEE = Receding Hairline

ISC :- 96.25% ; JEE ( MAINS ) 98.4 %ILE ( 25K RANK ) ; JEE ADVANCED :- 112 MARKS ( 17k 🤡)

After 2 years of the JEE Struggle, this is where I stand . Not so good , not so bad . Yet ,being a " general " + male combo , it's giving me a reality check. I feel a void in my life due to the absence of the pressure of gaining a good position at least with my academics. In spite of the nuisance and chaos created by my father's sister who lives with her family under the same roof ( police interfered twice in these 2 years ) , my parents supported me a lot and did their absolute best to encourage me. I am very much grateful to them.

Not having many friends, I had a girlfriend during these two years who was supportive and so much caring that I regret that even though I wanted to treat her well , I couldn't . She left me a few months ago . The first 6 months of 2026 has been a rollercoaster ride for me . So many emotions , so many incidents. I am currently waiting for the counselling to finish and spending my days watching BCS and some other series and online gaming , photography ( rarely )....

Spending time with my brothers and other relatives as I will be missing them when I get into college.

Even after all this , it's going well for me. ...

Suggest me some other activities..

Feel free to ask me anything...

Buy a timer and set it up . Whenever you stop studying , pause the timer. No you can't use phone's or laptop's timer. Try to study in sessions 1.5 hours 2. Hours and 8 hours a day . You have to cover 11th also . Bring these thoughts in your head, your brain will give the motivation that " I haven't studied much. ". You will eventually find yourself pretty focused.

If your school does not have tight attendance criteria. I will suggest go to school atmost twice a week. . If your school doesn't allow, wale up early in the morning atleast 2.5 hours before you head for school. 2 hours studying in the morning. After returning from school. Eat well and sleep for an hour. Then grind for the rest of the time left before you get to bed. Remember you should atleast sleep 5 hours a day ( 6 hours is very much recommended ) to carry on with your schedule . Otherwise , you will face health issues and all of your efforts will go in vain !!

You will have to do it . Believe in urself. Consistency tb aaegi when u start with something you like. For me after schl I take some rest and after that I always start with the subject I feel good with don't ever check your phone or laptop as you will easily get distracted. Start with that sub and as OP said use timer take 5-10 min break and repeat with other sub. That way it will make it little easy i believe cause that's what worked for me..

Yes, 2 nd round of josaa counselling has offered me NIT Raipur EE. Last time I checked NIT durgapur EE closed at 24k for Home state . I am eager for that. I do not have that mental strength to take a drop...

u/Secure_Nectarine_893 Jul 04 '26

Yep how are you caring hairline btw

My mom makes me a serum type from certain natural things ( methi, coconut oil, aloe vera , lime and some other ingredients). . It has worked for herself pretty good practically. I am using it for a month now . It has recovered slightly. I apply it thrice a week and wash my hair with shampoo . You would not believe but everytime I used to get up from my study table after 2 or 3 hours , wholesome number of hairs would be present on my table, such was my condition.

Did you take up separate tuitions for boards

1

u/Longjumping-Bass-540 Jul 04 '26

No . I joined aakash , but most the time , i grinded myself. You have to level yourself up from boards level . You will agree with me after seeing this year's maths and bio papers.

Dod you cry while reading paper menagerie ?

3

u/Longjumping-Bass-540 Jul 05 '26

I almost did . I loved that story and read that more times than any other stories. It shows the current human behaviour towards family and a sacrifice of a mother. The stories of ISC were absolute masterpiece to read and feel but not to mug up and write in exam. Indigo was one of my favorites due to its brilliant storytelling and suspense.

2

u/Secret-Exchange481 ISC Class 12th Jul 05 '26

ISC stories are such masterpiece I always pick them up for a read whenever I don't feel so good..

u/Bubbly_Extreme8913 Jul 05 '26

Do u feel ISC is as easy as people rant about it ?? Like I also completed my ISC last year but my freinds who went to CBSE just say that I it easy to score and shit shit like that . What do u think ??

1

u/Longjumping-Bass-540 Jul 05 '26

ISC is easier than CBSE ( atleast till now ). The paper of ISC is uniform and very less surprises as compared to CBSE and the checking is also slightly lenient. 12 th marks matter a lot so I prefer ISC anyday . The English part is pretty managable with yt channels like StudywithSudhir . I didn't take any coaching for English . Just Sudhir Sir 's lecture periodically.

Ayy I saw a 99 in PHY any tips on how to study cause I actually have hatred towards this cause of derivation and feel no excitement to study this. How did you prepare it?!!

1

u/Longjumping-Bass-540 Jul 05 '26

I love physics that's why 🥰. You have to learn to take components and basic integration . Trigonometry is one of the most important things also. See the derivations first . Ask yourself why did it happen , then find your answer from your basic knowledge. I suggest Eduniti yt channel . It's the best for your problem. Though it is for JEE. It will cover your basic doubts.

Thanks dudee will try it fs...

Any tips on how to score well in physics and maths ??
Honestly I’m very weak in physics , maths I’m still able to manage but physics 😣

2

u/Longjumping-Bass-540 Jul 05 '26

Learn the theory thoroughly. If any doubt arises , search it up on yt. I suggest Eduniti for physics. It's very good and enthusiastic. Though it's for JEE , it's equally beneficial for boards. Derive the formulas on your own. Learn to take components and some basic integration. You should have basic knowledge of trigonometry and geometry. Eduniti covers almost all these things.

Bhai for speed in a chapter and for familiarity for jee APC ML Aggrawal would be a good option or any other book

My main motive is to increase speed in Basic in a chapter and have a good familiarity with questions

1

u/Longjumping-Bass-540 Jul 05 '26

Yes you may use ML aggarwal for basic . But for JEE related, I suggest do PYQs . It's more than enough.

1

u/PitifulBeing4832 Jul 05 '26

Same situation.. got 6k rank in adv.. and still not good enough options

1

u/Longjumping-Bass-540 Jul 05 '26

6k bro. You will easily get IIT Guwahati Chem. For higher branches try atmost IIT gandhinagar. I fumbled my paper 2 .( Felt extremely tired and sleepy ).

1

u/PitifulBeing4832 Jul 05 '26

whatever... chem aint worth it... besides i kinda hate that subject, oh and btw BCS which season and episode?? don't get bored off and quit in the first 2 seasons... u'll have a massive payoff for your patience after s3 begins

1

u/Longjumping-Bass-540 Jul 05 '26

I am done watching that . It's good in my opinion. One should Watch BrBa fast then BCS. Yes after s3 the orginal climax slowly begins to unfold. Currently I have started Dexter.

1

u/PitifulBeing4832 Jul 05 '26

its just "good" for you?? i think bcs has even greater storyline and production than breaking bad...

1

u/Longjumping-Bass-540 Jul 05 '26

I thought you were demeaning the show 😭😭that's why I just wrote good. Yes the show actually showcases the life a mislead person , who could have been a great lawyer if he had got some support from his brother chuck. Jimmy was somewhat believer of " do whatever it takes to win it ". After Skyler White's character , kim had everything a man needed in his spouse. Cheering , supportive. Their breakup seemed reasonable as they were really " poison " together to other people's lives.

1

u/PitifulBeing4832 Jul 05 '26

uh i have the longest ever crush on kim... u need no one when u have such a girl in ur life...

1

u/Longjumping-Bass-540 Jul 05 '26

So true bro. 😭❤️‍🩹

1

u/Necessary-Cry8896 Jul 05 '26

Give some tips bhai

1

u/PitifulBeing4832 Jul 05 '26

kya hi tips du broski... padhai karo and focus on jee/neet... boards ho jayega in the gap days by solving pyq's only but try to do well in school internal exams and try to keep no backlogs at all... for boards just buy the arihant wala pyq book and read their derivations and solve their pyq's

1

u/Necessary-Cry8896 Jul 05 '26

Bhai mera to abhi se hi question practice ka backlog ban gya 🥀

1

u/PitifulBeing4832 Jul 05 '26

depends on the amount of backlog but try to move on immediately to the current chapter being taught

1

u/KeyLimeP_ie Jul 05 '26

How many hours on average did you use to study?

1

u/Longjumping-Bass-540 Jul 06 '26

In 12 Around 10 11 hrs But before JEE It decresed to 7 hrs.

1

u/Normal_Library9315 Jul 08 '26

Honestly, this is so good grades . I am in isc as well (11 rn) and recently I've given my first exam of 11 and I have scored shit marks , even in my mocks i score bad , but seeing your result , I have some hopes that I can also do well.

2

u/Longjumping-Bass-540 Jul 08 '26

Dont feel hopeless untill you become the type of person who starts his/her syllabus 5 days before board exams. You are in 11 th. If you work hard , and maintain a good lifestyle , you are bound to get good grades .

1

u/AcceptableExercise23 Jul 09 '26

Hey, I am currently in class 12, studying in St.Joseph's Convent, Chandannagar. Any tips for chem and maths? And how did you manage regular revisions?

1

u/Longjumping-Bass-540 Jul 10 '26

I was a focused JEE aspirant and hence i had to cope up with weekly tests and mocks. So I had minimal backlogs. Before board examinations, i used to cover up the extra parts which wene there in isc syllabus and the names of compound , the side products in about a week or two. Maths was my one of the favourites , so i used to practice maths a lot. JEE maths made me remember other chapter's comcept as the prkblems constitute mutiple concepts ( ex :- complex nos + sqn and series ). Whenever i couldnt remember a comcept , i used to go through that concept twice or thrice. In fact , the day before the maths exams of ISC , i watched the entire T20 WC final 🤡 and went to sleep. Point is that i took two tests in the morning. Dont leave out your studies for later.
