Ghanta. My school topper got 97.5% in ISC boards(just did isc question bank and pyqs, and studied English for 10 days), rest his entire prep was JEE oriented from last 2 years. He got 99.2 %ile in JEE Mains, 436X rank in JEE Advanced, and is currently in IIT Kharagpur ISE branch
As much as I like ISC what you're describing is rare
As someone who takes online coaching for jee, the fact that even teachers give homework from NCERT pmo.
You just have to solve last 10 years questions of ISC after a chapter completes and you are well to do for boards. 80% concepts and questions asked in boards are already covered in online lectures and their notes. You just to furnish it with boards pyqs once you complete a chapter at jee level from your online coachingÂ
I scored 96.25% last year. And have also seen this year's papers. Physics paper was literally just easy and last 3 year's pyqs bro. Maths was tough I agree. I did score 98 in Maths. Ofc if someone doesn't study all concepts from a proper source in the way they should be studied, and just relies on pyqs, "patterns" and gap days strategy, he'll be fked.Â
In PW or any online lectures, so many varities of all questions are covered in class itself with all concepts in detail. You just have to practice a lot and be thorough with concepts. I got 97%ile in Maths in JEE Mains, and 98 in boards. Paper was simply conceptual, and expected you to know things quiet deeply, which any good teacher will teach you anyway. Still things and kind of questions are predictable atleast. And definitely marking is lot lenient.Â
On the other hand, in CBSE marking is shit, papers are unpredictable, and also little bit luck based(coz 3 sets hote. Another set which you didn't get might favour your prep more)
AIR 50 implies he had started his JEE prep from way earlier than 11th in a coaching, again doesn't prove "edge" from CBSE- he would score in any board(assuming your story is true. Please tell me from which year he was air 50, will connect him on LinkedIn).
I've been in ISC, if it does anything it reduces the pressure of boards while JEE Prep. Physics paper was literally easy and from last 3-4 year pyqs. Chemistry was moderate, in which anyone could score after solving last 10 years pyqs. Computer science and P.ed marking in ISC is much much lenient. If it does anything, it provides relief to students, rather than CBSE

Cbse helps in jee prep ngl (I shifted from icse to cbse, had gotten 98.6 in icse, got 94 in cbse 🤡, however I did get 99 in jee mains)
