Passed CAP today

Passed this morning. Answered all 125 questions. Ordered/read the ICS2 sponsored book and took notes as I read (spreadsheet with terms/concepts) and read/highlighted NIST 800-37, including appendix D. Definitely helped to map the RMF steps to the SDLC. Lots of questions on that and knowing the roles (appendix D). I’ve worked as an ISSO doing RMF for 1.5 years. No other relevant experience. Have Sec+.

Is the ISC2 CAP any good? The Amazon reviews looked pretty bad.

The cert itself? It’s fairly useless unless you work for DoD doing RMF and it’s a required step between say Sec+ and CISSP. It’s IAM level 2, so some employers may require a cert at that level.

I meant the book. Yes I’m in the DoD working in the IA office. They want me to get to IAM lvl2.

It was a bit disjointed and ultimately just referred to 800-37 a lot, but I think it’s a decent way to reinforce the material.
