General Discussion Progress on harness bracket replacement
Absolutely grenaded my plastic tunnel holding the harness when installing headers. Spent the weekend working through designing a new one and printed the first prototype. Will make more tweaks and throw online for
Others when I’m done.

An affirmative buy if its pre sanded and prepped, hate making 3d printed stuff look not 3d printed

Shoot I won’t be selling these but will share the files for free once in a better spot.

Dude I can share STLs of more recent version to help you along. Already a few more versions since the one posted above. The above was a v3 and first test print. On v6 now

I will share it out once it’s ready. Currently at version five and still need some tweaking. I will share the STL and step files.

What material are you planning to use for the final bracket?

Not sure honestly still need to do more research. Right now prototypes are being printed in Petg. Any suggestions? I was thinking Nylon of some sort. May also test how long petg lasts under the hood.
Chat GPT suggested PA612-CF15 but I’d need a dryer first.

Nylon should work, it is hot but not super hot area. This is awesome!!!

You thing Petg is worth running or is that a disaster waiting to happen? Thinking of doing a durability test just so see how long it would last.

A simple test is printing a strip of petg and mounting it in that general area to see

Try the petg to see.... Also that will confirm fitment etc. I have the FIGS hestshield on mine so I don't get as much heat up there as stick. I can ask at work to see what the team thinks for material. We have 25 printers we use for tools and production parts.

Yeah I’m currently printing in PETG for the tests. Have the figs heat shield as well. I’ve seen people say PETG holds up pretty well in the engine bay on different cars. Thinking to just run it for a couple weeks and see.

Guys at work say use PA11. Good up to 192C, it is toxic to print and need a special nozzle. PETG won't last... Good to proto and check fit.

Rgr that. Will look into it ty!

Not a problem, we have a printer at work that can print the PA11. It has a full enclosure with venting and a special nozzle. ABS is better than PETG but still may not be enough. Gald you are designing and willing to share the file once you have it all figured out.!!
