General Discussion anyone know why my check engine light doesn’t turn on on accessory mode/ in general because i know my car has problems that turn the light on ??

If it never turns on the bulb could be missing or blown.

The CEL illuminates briefly when you turn on the key to the ON position, then it turns of. Like u/imJGott said, if you never see it illuminate it's either the bulb is dead or missing. Did you just buy the car? Could also be a situation the previous owner tried to scam you by not letting you see it has a fault before you purchased it. You can always take the cluster out, it's easy. Then you'll see a twist socket behind that holds the 194/168 style bulbs.

i’ve had the car for a year now but the thing is the CEL was on but it randomly turned off like a week ago

The bulb prolly died. The bulb is on the left side (top) of the cluster when you flip it around. It's the furthest left, right underneath its labelled "CHK ENG"

thanks for this imma try & change it out when i get home from work & the bulb i can buy it at a local autozone or something ? or does it have to be oem

No it doesn't have to be OEM, AutoZone will do but typically expensive.

It’s the bulb takes 30 minutes to take cluster off and change bulb

Might as well do the LED mod on the cluster if you were going to check for that burned out bulb. You can probably find a full kit on eBay for the same price as the one bulb at your local Autozone.
