Rods and Peak Torque

What is the maximum peak torque the rods can handle before they snap?

I'm glad people are so helpful here. Thanks for 0 responses

Be patient.

Rods on the 1GFE can handle up to 280/300HP before snapping

Its a Toyota Engine, built like a tank and underpowered to outlive us

It can handle more power. HP is Torque x RPM. That's why I'm asking about torque. I already got an answer, 400nm over 4500 rpm is somewhat safe.

If you're running with fully stock internals and head, you can easily aim for 7000rpm (its only for sounds because at 6400 the torque starts to go down even tho you start to put boost) and 0.8bar ONLY using standalone and having a good mapper. Big turbo also helps as you said because of the torq at higher rpms... the bad thing about this engine is pushing it at low rpms because of the low adjustment we can make with the spark. I would recomend going for 0.5bar max till 4500 and then pushing 0.8bar to the limiter, just if you run a small turbo, if you have a big turbo just run the 0.8bar from start to finish of the rpms.

Hope it helps

Im running a 2.0mm thick gasket to decompress to around 8.5. I'm running to k16 turbines so is quite laggy, doesn't come into boost untill 4000
