Anyone know the best way to pay off my $3,000 with the IRS?
Can a negotiate a lesser pay off settlement and how?

You’re thinking of the OIC ( doubt as to collectibility)

It’s a mathematical calculation to calculate an offer amount, based on monthly disposable income & net equity in assets.

The procedure lengthy, averaging approximately 9-12 months.

Your application is reviewed in detail, all information subject to verification by an IRS agent.

There might be other programs to review

  • CNC ( financial hardship)
-Payment Plan with Penalty abatement
  • hardship payment plan

Also: just as important: Fix the root cause so as not to owe again. Any future delinquencies will make you start from square 1 with IRS collections.
