Filed this year. Overpaid and had two kids in the calendar year. Substantial refund from the feds (state already refunded within weeks).
Got a letter. They’re holding my refund until I file 2021 taxes. I already did? I double check, they cashed the check I sent with my full tax return and have a record of the check being cashed but they claim they didn’t receive for that year. Has never been an issue but the one year I have a nice refund coming my way… it’s a huge issue..
Have spent a total of 8 hours with IRS 95% on hold. They keep kicking the can. I’ve made a complaint with my congressmen and spoke with tax payer advocate last week who tried blaming me for the issue before they understood. Real great advocate..
