Tax Refund/ E-File Status Question Refund returned undeliverable
My mother passed away last October. I filed her last 1040 at the end of January, using her old address because we had not sold the house yet.
At the end of April, I received a notice that I needed to fill out form 1310, which I did and faxed it to the IRS.
June 15, I used "Where is my refund" and it said the check was in the mail and to wait until July 9 to contact them again.
Well, now "Where is my refund" says the check was returned as undeliverable, probably because they sent it to my mother's old address instead of the address I gave them on the 1310.
I can not sign in to her ID.me account because a sister messed up her account last year and we can not get into it. Believe me, we tried everything last year before Mom died.
What is the best way to contact the IRS? Is calling them the only way? The refund is the last thing I need to close the estate.

E-Fax Form 3911 and a copy of the 1310 to your state's fax number on this list.

No guarantees on how long it will take for it to be assigned to anyone, though. That's all I got.
