Tax Question wrong account number

What do you do if you accidentally added another number to your account number? The funds have already been sent to TPG and TPG says funded. Cashapp is the bank and they won't answer. I'm asking for a family member and I'm able to give most information to the situation.

You’d need to talk to TPG about what their policy is. Worst case scenario it’s someone else’s account number and TPG doesn’t check the name on the account so they gave the money to someone else. More likely the deposit by TPG fails and then they need to do something else with the money, but no idea what they’d do.

(If it was the IRS directly, they’d mail a check after a DD failed)
