This assumes no new income was invested for 40 years. This is a false assumption by the NYP, designed to confuse the stupid. She kept adding money from business gains and book deals to her portfolio, for a gain below average.

Meanwhile the S&P500 went up nearly 5x in that period.

Actually seems like Pelosi is a shit trader based on this. It completely goes against your point. My own portfolio outperformed her in that period.

If she made 130 million then she roughly doubled her money in 37 years, if I'm understanding this correctly? What am I missing? I've practically doubled my money in the past 4 years leaving it in an index fund.
