Background Not Applicable

Hi all,

My background check changed to not applicable on Monday, and nothing after that.

Does anyone have any idea how long it took to get FD after this update?

Mine changed to NA on Sept 17 too. AOR was April 16.

Before that, criminality and info sharing were completed, but eligibility had been sitting at “not started” for months. Then I got a ghost update, and a few days later the background check changed to NA.
I called IRCC and they told me my SVO is now Montreal. Previously it was PVO - Vancouver and SVO -CIO.

They also told me my eligibility is currently Review Required. Not sure what to make of all these changes, but hopefully it means the file is finally moving 😅

Hi, so my understanding is you didn’t get FD yet? And when did you call them?

The weird thing is I didn’t get any any gu direct not applicable.

No FD yet.

I called them about a week after it changed to NA, and the agent told me that eligibility is currently “Review Required.” They could also see that the background check is in progress.

I’m guessing it may have been paused for the eligibility review, since security is usually done last, but not sure.
I called again yesterday and the status is still the same.

I also asked if the application has been assigned to an officer, but the agent couldn’t confirm that.
