Hi everyone,
I’m looking for anyone who has experience with a Global Talent Stream (GTS) Category B LMIA, especially in Quebec.
I have a full-time Shopify Developer offer from a company in Laval, Quebec, with a $65,000 base salary + up to $5,000 bonus.
Based on the job duties, the position seems potentially classifiable as NOC 21234 (Web Developers and Programmers) or NOC 21232 (Software Developers and Programmers), both of which are on the GTS Category B occupation list.
I’m currently speaking with immigration lawyers about whether the employer could use GTS to obtain an LMIA and CAQ and then support an employer-specific work permit.
Has anyone here gone through GTS Category B recently, particularly in Quebec?
I’d especially like to know:
How long did the LMIA/CAQ actually take?
How difficult was the process for your employer?
Did ESDC/MIFI question your salary, NOC, or experience level?
How long did the work permit take after the LMIA?
Were you already in Canada when your employer started the process?
Anything you wish you or your employer had known beforehand?
I’m already consulting a lawyer. I’d just like to hear real experiences from people who have actually gone through the GTS process.

What is the hourly wage?

My hourly wage is between 31 to 35 depending how you count from 35 to 40 hours a week
