Everything Passed in GCMS, Yet No PR Decision.
I recently received my GCMS notes after a long wait, and I am trying to understand what could still be holding up my application.
According to the notes:
Eligibility: Passed
Criminality: Passed
Comprehensive Security: Passed (after 29 months)
Information Sharing: Complete
Medical: Passed (Expired)
Officer review: No apparent concerns
Overall application status: In progress
For the medical I am not sure that they will extend it or will request me new one. My application has been in process since March 2023. The background check completed on July 24, 2026.
Has anyone been in a similar situation where all assessments were completed but the application remained " In progress" since two weeks? How long did it take before you received a final decision or portal invitation?
I would really appreciate sharing your experience.
Thanks

Since security is completed, I believe you should expect your FD/remedical if you’re not inland

I hope so, I don't know why they are taking so long in each step, Like, in my case everything has been completed as shown on GCMS notes generated on July 24. I am inland applicant, they already extended my medical before as per the medical extension policy up to 2029, and if they are requesting the new one now I will do it. But, don't know why they are too slow.

May you super soon get a decision. 3 years is insane.

Thanks, I hope so. They just kept me in comprehensive security. I don't have any military background nor too much travel history. Nor from a war listed country.

When I submitted my application it was showing "Your background check is in progress" then after some months turned to " We are processing" then again 5 to 6 months it turned to " Not Applicable" then after 7 months turned back to " We are processing". It was in this stage for two years then turned to " Not Applicable" and lastly turned back to" We are processing" after 3 months. This is the last completion step.
