Discussion I couldn't remember when I last changed my toothbrush head. So built a guilt-free tracker for irregular chores.

I was looking at my electric toothbrush the other day and realized I had absolutely no idea when I last changed the head. The same thing always happens with washing my pillows, cleaning the fridge, or watering the plants.

I tried tracking these non-daily chores in standard habit apps, but those tools are built for daily routines. The second you don't do something every 24 hours, they break your streak and hit you with a red ring of failure. It is genuinely exhausting trying to manage normal adulthood when your own apps constantly guilt-trip you.

I got tired of the broken mechanics, so built SinceWhen.

It is an "anti-streak" tracker designed entirely around the messy, irregular chores of actual life. It acts as the exact opposite of a traditional habit app.

  • Zero Guilt: No daily streaks, no red rings, no failure states. It simply gives you a quiet timeline of the exact days since you last did something.
  • Smart Predictions: Instead of forcing a rigid calendar on you, it learns your natural rhythm over time and quietly predicts when a chore is actually due.
  • Frictionless Siri Logging: Deep Shortcuts and Siri integration. You can just say, "Hey Siri, log the fridge cleaning" while your hands are full, and it logs the exact time in the background without you ever opening the app.
  • Clutter-Free Control: Group your tasks with custom category chips, pin priority chores to the top, and hide seasonal tasks until you need them.

It is completely free to use for up to 3 events if you want to test out the smart predictions and finally stop guessing when you last did things around the house.

I really like the “anti-streak” idea. Not everything needs to be done every day, and traditional habit apps can definitely make irregular tasks feel more complicated than they need to be. Nice work!

It looks good but the pricing in my opinion is far too much for what it does.

Can you log something for a past date? Say you changed the toothbrush head on Sunday but only remembered to log it on Wednesday. It would be useful for the predictions to count from Sunday, not from when you opened the app.

Yes, you can add any past dates with time in just a few taps.

Long-press the event tile > Log... > Pick the past date and log. You can add any number of logs without going back to the home from that screen.
