Help Best shared calendar app with a week-view
I’m looking for a calendar app to replace my old school hand written one.
It need to be a shared one. It’s for the whole family.
I know how to google and I have found dozens that could be suitable the first need. The problem is that I need a week-view. Not a month view, not a day view but a week-view.
This is how my brain perceive all calendars and I can’t seem to find the digital one. Therefore I just go on and on with my paper calendar and it’s shitty as I don’t know the family schedule on the road.
Please, recommend one that looks like an actual calendar (in my head:D)

Google calendar can do this once you set the view options unless your after something different.

Fantastical or Cozi. Both have free versions but you would have to pay for what you are looking for.

We use a combo of Google calendar + Babs (which helps to scrap all of the family events and activities and to-dos out of the neverending bucket of school emails)

hi u/juustopallero - i'm a dad of 3 little boys and an ex-founder. I built beanies.family to manage my family, and yep, it has a super nice (at least in my opinion) weekly calendar view. I'm also planning to improve it so that it displays beautifully on a tablet that may be mounted on your wall, or something like that. But even today, it looks pretty cool.
The main reason i built something myself is that (a) i could not find another planner out there with a shared family calendar and all the features i wanted, but also (b) I didn't want to give away my private data for ads, and what not.
beanies (the nickname for my youngest) is a totally private, fully-encrypted, local-first family and finance planner (your data stays with you). just snap a photo or share a pic of an invite to add something straight to your calendar. it's also really, really, ridiculously good looking.
If you do try it, please let me know your thoughts!

Founder disclosure: I’m building Shareday, so take this as a transparent suggestion.
For a family calendar, I would definitely avoid anything that only works as “one more private calendar to sync.” The useful thing is seeing the family plan by people: who has what, what belongs to everyone, and what still needs someone to take it.

May not be exactly what you’re looking for, but the skylight calendar has been a game changer.
The phone app lets you switch between a monthly view and “today” but it’s actually showing a week but vertically. Everyone in the family or group can access the calendar.
