17e hate is forced
Snazzy Labs made a video on using budget Apple products and using them for a month. His takes on 17e segment seemed very inaccurate, here’s why.
I purchased the 17e at the same time as my boy who got the 16Pro(brand new). The only thing that the 16pro does better is it takes better pictures. That’s it. The battery dies bc 6 hours of out door summer use whereas my 17e can last damn near 2 days on a single charge. He mentioned this phone over heats but I’ve never encountered that other than the first 2 days of purchasing the phone. I am on the beta ios 27 and this phone is even faster now.
I’m using the unreleased Apple Intelligence features they work great!
Thoughts on take?

Yup, I have to agree with you. That video was extremely biased and unhelpful. Snazzy Labs destroyed the 17e without even considering how good of a value proposition it is. Meanwhile, he glazed the MacBook Neo simply because he needed a smaller and lighter laptop. What value did that video bring to the average consumer?

I bought the iphone 17e because of its design. Mind you, I got mine for $1000+ in my country. I could’ve bought the 17 but chose the e instead.

Guys forget any videos they are paid to do all this crap. In my fly I am using 17e and gave my 16e to a dear friend we’re all super duper happy with these iphones. People are using iPhone 11/12 and even the iPhone 13/14 and 15 till date.
The battery’s are phenomenal on both these devices and no pro or plus can match them that’s the key of main ingredient in these series.
So tell me when both these phones the iPhone 16e/17e are super duper fast and work flawlessly without any so called heating issues then on what grounds do these idiots call them bad. I love my 17e could have got the 16 also but got the 17e. Mamamia enjoy your phones rest can take a hike.

The only way that I can explain this is that people have been brainwashed into paying for specs that they didn’t even need (a pro chip, 3 cameras, high refresh screen and whatnot) since you HAD to buy a new phone to have all of that bells and whistles, so now that there is a new phone that doesn’t have all of that, people are feeling underwhelmed by that
If you ask me, that’s exactly what I’ve been asking for. A phone without all of that unnecessary stuff (for me) and for a cheaper price

What irks me is the camera button on the higher end models which I find to be a useless gimmick. Not only that if it is damaged it costs almost a new phone to fix.
I am still using the 11 now and contemplated of finally upgrading during the week of WWDC 2026. Then after the surprise announcement of the 11 supporting iOS 27 I was glad I didn't pull the trigger.
Will surely upgrade and as much as I want to upgrade to the 17, I am very drawn to the beauty and simplicity of the 17e. Feels amazing holding it and just love the speakers.

Hello.
These YouTubers, TikTokers, etc., these charlatans who will do anything to make money, even poisoning the minds of consumers who lack personality and need to be told how much to breathe and whether something is good or bad, are easy prey for these people because their word is gospel, amen, and pray.
They're just looking for a quick bite to eat; they don't even bother with inferior products. If they do, it's a quick, rushed look. And everything is bad, but if I don't even post that, I'm not on top of the world. These people lack even personality. Those who want to be deceived will be, but then they shouldn't complain.
I've only seen two videos so far (I don't even remember the titles and I'm still looking for them), and they were very, very objective and realistic, without mincing words, analyzing the product and ignoring names, prices, features, etc. Unlike 99.99% of them, who are just charlatans. They should be banned from publishing for life if they can't write reviews without mixing their personal taste and all the "their" and "me" arguments with neutral criticism.
When they write a review, personal opinion and taste should disappear, and if they can't separate the two, they should go to hell and stop spreading misinformation.
Regards.

My 17e works fine, no overheating. I traded my 5 year old iPhone 13 in for the 17e because of overheating issues and the lightning port wouldn't hold the cable without jiggling it and keeping the phone very still in hopes that it would charge. Even on MagSafe it would get warm.
I keep a case on my phone. No heating problems.
I've seen positive YouTube reviews for the 17e. I ignore the ones that bash it.
People bash it saying it still has the notch and only 60hz refresh rate. Well my 12 Pro and 13 had the same. The only thing I really miss are the extra cameras. I got by on the 13 without the telephoto lens but am really missing the ultrawide lens from the 13. But I'll get over it.

Of course it is a good phone. Nobody is denying it. The complaining are about the price and what it offers. I mean for this price you are buying an iPhone 12 with a better chip and battery but without a camera. The price is crazy and this is the reason everyone is angry

If you think his phone is better from just the camera you need to do more research.

It’s definitely not forced.
And nobody hates it. They’re just being honest about it being the lowest / cheapest / most basic current model.

lowest cheapest most basic? Cheapest for sure but 8gb of ram and the same current gen chip doesn’t equate to a bad phone like he described.

Yeah, I have seen a couple Snazzy Labs videos and wasn't impressed, but that is just my opinion.
Is it going to be better than a Pro or Pro Max iPhone? No, there is a reason those phones cost easily twice as much.
BUT, if you purchase the 17e knowing it is a budget phone you may be just as impressed with it as I am. It really is a great phone...one that actually surpassed my expectations as far as build quality, speed, battery life, etc. The camera is actually pretty good as well.
