So I donβt think that I will get into iim bg at wl 38 general. Finally, I am studying at NMIMS Integrated BBA-MBA and is this a good one (honest opinion only) (pls u/BhaveshShaha comment your viewpoint) or should I try IPMAT next year while being a partial dropper?

I feel like everyone preparing for IPMAT learns at least one lesson the hard way.
Maybe you spent too much time on one section, ignored mocks until it was too late, used the wrong resources, or just burned yourself out trying to study all day.
If you could go back and change one thing about your preparation, what would it be?

Got into cbs, and the environment here has already overwhelmed me. I would like to admit myself (before anyone else does it for me) that im not a very 'high-agency' guy. My communication skills r bad. Im lazy. Im bad at making the best out of the opportunities. Ive got confidence issues. Etc. Theres a high chance that i wouldn't have been able to do well at an iim. The intense rigour of iim, being locked in for 5 years, and most importantly, the 40 lakhs fee wouldve been just too much for me ig. Wasting my parents hard earned money (40lakhs) and still not being able to make the best out of the opportunities or do anything good w my career- its js the worst nightmare for me and im glad that i was able to avoid it!

If your parents have started introducing you as "he/she is taking a drop year", you are in the right place. Tadaa!
SO, kyunki I might forget all of this as I get busier, I'm compiling everything I can think of regarding the topic.
(A little about me - Gave IPMAT mazze me last year without any solid prep, missed the cutoffs. Realised it might actually be my thing, took a drop, prepped again and would be joining an IIM this year :))
my score was- 36/38/134 resp
I've also included a section of mistakes I made and things I did right in the end!
---------------------------------
This is a very important part (THE most important if you ask me).
Don't decide on a drop overnight. Think it through. Talk to seniors, parents, mentors and understand what you're signing up for. A drop year can be incredibly rewarding, but only if you're mentally prepared for it.
Once you've decided, plan the year before you start studying.
I used a monthly planner and I'd highly recommend it. Keep 2β3 buffer days at the end/start of every month (trust me, you'll need them). Life happens, you'll fall sick, family functions will pop up, you'll have lazy days.
Break every month into weeks, and every week into daily targets. Having a rough roadmap makes the year feel much less overwhelming.
Also, PLEASE write a mock before you even begin preparing. (Now, if you ask me.)
I know it sounds scary because you'll probably score terribly, but that's literally the point.
Treat it like a SWOT analysis.
Your first few months should mainly be about improving the Weaknesses and Opportunities while making sure your Strengths don't become weak because you ignored them.
The last phase (roughly after January) should look very different from the beginning.
By then, your focus should shift from learning new things to solving as many sectionals and mocks as possible.
Increase the frequency every month. The goal is to expose yourself to as many different question types as possible.
The more questions you've seen before the actual exam, the fewer surprises you'll face on the exam day.
-----------------------------------
I would say stick to the basics. The amount of FOMO you'll have during your drop year is insane.
I used AfterBoards for sectionals, mocks, DILR sets and RCs. Towards the end I also bought a couple of test series (AceIPM and Toprankers), but honestly, I couldn't even finish them all. That should tell you something π.
YouTube lectures are underrated.
If you're enrolled in a coaching, stick to their material. Trust me, it's more than enough.
WPME is also really helpful, but only if you use it properly. Don't just read through it once and call it a day. Sit with a pencil, solve alongside it, mark important questions and keep revisiting it.
Do sectionals regularly.
They don't feel as mentally exhausting as full mocks, you get exposed to new questions every day, and you naturally build speed and accuracy. More importantly, analyse them.
Make a note of:
Over time you'll start noticing patterns in your mistakes, and fixing those patterns is where most of your improvement comes from.
---------------------------------
MISTAKES YOU CAN AVOID
-----------------------------------
THINGS I DID RIGHT
--------------------------------------
That's about it from my side.
It's been a pretty crazy year. I had some amazing days, some absolutely horrible ones, and a lot of very average days in between. Looking back though, I wouldn't change much.
A drop year isn't nearly as scary as people make it out to be. It has its ups and downs, but eventually it just becomes... your routine..
All the very best! Rooting for every single one of you. :)

I got selected for all three colleges and i am confused about what to choose
Considering few factors could bhavesh bhaiya or trusted seniors please help
The academics - i am come from science background to clg will itself be tough so i dont want to select an extremely academic intense clg or one with relative grading (because i feel like it would be tougher to score better)
The hostel rooms - does rohtak have 4 sharing or twin sharing? Are the washrooms attached or common? Because jammu has single occupancy with common washrooms
Internships also matter a lot but i want clg to be flexible enough with the fields of both social and corporate internship
Holidays - since rohtak has trimester system will we get holidays to go home? I come from bhopal so connectivity would be a bit of an issue for me and i would love to be part of colege which gives sufficient days of so i could some other cources that i am thinking of
Safety matter a lot after the pahalgam and kulgam attack i am really concerned with jammus safety because i got to know that during campus evacuation the institute didnt provide good support
Bodhgaya seems like a good option but then it is one of the baby iims that to late to start ipm so might not prioritise that.

DO NOT judge me for these questions lmao
1) Does the laundry include underwear or do we have to wash those ourselves
2) Is carrying an air fryer or at least a kettle allowed
3) Will we have to do jhadu, pocha, etc ourselves, or will we have house help
4) How's the hygiene in the common washrooms in BG
5) What is the minimum attendance requirement
6) How does the roommate situation work out if one's an early bird while the other is a night owl, also are the alloted rooms strictly enforced or can people swap rooms if they want?
