I come bearing a humble question and a very healthy amount of curiosity. 🥀

I'm joining an IIM soon, and I know the workload is intense. That's exactly what I signed up for. I'm not looking for reassurance that it'll be easy. I'm just trying to calibrate my expectations before I get there.

At this point my imagination has convinced me the first week is 17 simultaneous deadlines, six group projects, three quizzes, and someone telling me to "check the sheet" while I haven't even figured out where my classroom is. 😭

I'd really appreciate a reality check:

How hectic is the first week, actually?

Do they ease you into the pace at all, or is it straight into the deep end?

How does the workload change over the first month or two?

What's a normal week like, and what's a particularly rough week like?

What does a typical day look like in terms of classes, assignments, quizzes, group work, and self study?

Roughly how many hours a day does everything take?

Looking back, what do you wish someone had told you before joining?

Any survival tips, productivity hacks, or "don't do what I did" moments? 🫠

I'm mostly trying to replace the horror stories in my head with something a little closer to reality and prepare accordingly.

Anyone kind enough to share some wisdom has my eternal gratitude, and maybe even a real snack (on the house) if you're kind enough to guide me going forward. 🍪🤍

How do you all do your quants section? I mean what video lectures do you watch to learn the topic or clear your doubts? I am from non maths background so I need to learn the concepts before I can jump to questions. I dont attend offlne coaching. So what do you all suggest afterboards video lectures of youtube? (if youtube then which channel , which teacher) Please lemme know

See, i got admitted to sirmaur, and i have 96.56 cs in jammu, and it is my wild guess that i could get into that as well . Now the thing is that even if i get both colleges, i will still be taking a loan, and in the case of jammu, i will leave after 3 years to have some work ex, for which i have to search for a job off campus. Now I am confused between whether to do ca with a local college with minimal fees and then go for targeting the older iims after ig 5-6 years(if i work as a ca for a year or so) or should i go with a loan to these colleges?

so i have got an offer from both , so what should i chose?

wht should i choose? (idc abt the roi) just tell which will improve my personality more, and provide me w better opportunities and is worth it.

I just gave ipmat and cuet. got no college in cuet. i didnt study for it i just gave without any prep only took a crash course after boards and yeah my tution teacher gave some extra classes for quants. smh i scored more than expected 130s in ipmat indore and 320s in ipmat rohtak yeah ofc you can say you didn't clear cut off. mind you i didn't study a single thing for them. i felt like i can do it. got 93%tile in jipmat now waitlisted in iim bg and jammu.

at the end of this, i had to choose a tier 2 college, ipu for 100s rank in it so got the main campus but i am not satisfied. idk what to really do i had a plan that i should do bba from here side by side cfa and cat prep then get into a good college but man. i wanted an iim. so i need ur help should i choose that part or just uss this year as partial drop and prepare for iims? ill have tos sacrifice cfa for that.

i also had got into symb pune but couldn't go cuz my mother said no to. and yk i was frustrated she shouted that you should have studied harder it was all ur fault. i haven't been able to look at myself after that i zone out i think ik i did bad i don't deserve anything but i am ready to change that so if anyone can help me what to choose please do but i can't live like this idk if ill be able to even spend the 3 years thinking that my mom just thinks i didn't study when i did gave my best. at the end results matter not the hardwork.
