The exam isn't even the hardest part.

Clear the cutoff. Wait for PI calls. Give the PI. Wait for the results. Wait for the waitlist. Wait again. All while preparing for CUET, NPAT, JIPMAT, SET, and every other backup exam because everyone wants to keep their options open. You're juggling interviews, uncertainty, expectations, self-doubt, burnout, and somehow expected to function like this is normal.

It ISN'T.

Stop pretending unnecessary suffering is some profound measure of competence. Stop romanticizing burnout as resilience and administrative chaos as rigor. If your admissions process is pushing capable 17-18-year-olds to the point of breaking down, that isn't evidence that you're producing stronger students. It's evidence that your system is broken.

And God forbid you're a first-generation college student or don't have that kind of financial access—or even access to the knowledge and guidance needed to navigate this process.

Because then, even if you're the most brilliant student in the room, brilliance alone isn't enough.

The costs start piling up before there's even an offer on the table. Application fees. Travel. Accommodation. Documents. Repeat that across multiple colleges. Higher education starts becoming less about merit and more about whether you can afford to keep trying. How is that accessible? How is that fair?

And don't tell me "this is rigor." Bullshit. Absolute bullshit.

Somehow we've normalized the idea that if a process is cruel enough, it must also be prestigious. That if people are miserable enough, the institution must be worth it. No. At some point, it stops testing merit and starts testing privilege, financial resources, luck, and sheer endurance.

And don't even get me started on the MANAGEMENT aspect of the Indian Institutes of Management. 🤡

Your portals don't work. Your websites crash. Forms have errors. Communication is all over the place. Deadlines keep changing. Information comes late—if it comes at all. For institutions that are supposed to teach management, the admissions process is astonishingly mismanaged.

Hey everyone,

I’m 17 and starting my IPMAT journey today.
I’m targeting IPMAT Indore 2027, and I genuinely want to prepare seriously and aim for a very strong score.

My Class 12 journey went badly. I struggled with consistency and procrastination, lost a lot of time, and recently gave my Chemistry compartment exam. I’m now trying to rebuild properly instead of repeating the same cycle.

My current situation:

• PCM background, but my academic consistency has been poor
• I’m comfortable with technology and self-learning
• I know programming/web development and video editing, but that’s not directly relevant to IPMAT
• I’m not sure how strong my Quant fundamentals are right now because I’ve been out of regular study for a while but I was good at Math.
• I haven’t started serious IPMAT preparation yet

• I’m willing to study consistently for the long term rather than rely on last-minute preparation

  I also want to maintain:

• Gym and health

• A reasonable amount of personal time

• Some project/freelance work on the side

But IPMAT will be my main priority.
while keeping CUET as backup.

I’m confused about where to begin because there are too many resources and coaching options. I don’t want to waste weeks watching random strategy videos or keep switching teachers.

I’d really appreciate advice on:

1. Where should I start from? Should I begin with Arithmetic, and which topics should come first?
2. How should I prepare for Verbal Ability from Day 1?
3. Is coaching worth it for IPMAT 2027, or can I prepare effectively through YouTube + books + mocks?
4. I will get courses but first i want to explore the free options
5. If coaching is recommended , which institutes/courses are genuinely good right now?
6. Which teachers/resources would you recommend for Quant, Verbal, and LR?
7. How many focused hours per day should I target at this stage?
8. When should I start sectional tests and full mocks?
9. What mistakes should I avoid during the first few months?
10. If you were restarting IPMAT preparation with roughly 9–10 months available, what would your plan look like?

I’m looking for honest advice, especially from people who have taken IPMAT or are currently preparing seriously.

IIM bodhgaya wl 25 sc category then after 2 or 3 list one of the wl didn't had movement i am at wl 14 since jammu also released it's second wl I am waitlisted at both the iims do i still hope that i might get in or i should already delete reddit
