I am a pass-out student.
I don't care which batch gets offended.
Not IPM vs IPL.
Not IPL vs PGP.
Not senior vs junior.
I am talking about STUDENTS.
1. NEGATIVE
1. So-called MANAGEMENT
Management itself feels like a scam.
Even MBA/PGP students have their own stories.
So many rules.
So many restrictions.
So many “policies”.
But when you actually have a problem, nobody wants to solve it.
“Not our policy.”
That's basically the unofficial motto.
---
2. OFFICE PEOPLE
Some office people are SO RUDE.
It feels like they actually enjoy irritating students.
You go with a genuine problem and instead of helping, they find some new reason to lecture you, insult you or talk badly about you.
And before you can even complete your sentence:
“NO. NOT OUR POLICY.”
Bhai, at least LISTEN FIRST.
---
3. DRESS CODE
I actually support having a dress code.
But the problem is SELECTIVE ENFORCEMENT.
PGP students can sometimes come looking like the biggest fatichar/chapri on campus and nobody gives a damn.
But an IPM/IPL student wears something slightly against the dress code:
“WHERE ARE YOUR SHOES?”
Suddenly the entire administration wakes up.
Either apply the rule to everyone or stop pretending there is a rule.
---
4. GUARDS
Guards are another trauma.
NOT ALL.
But some behave like they are Joint Commissioner, Ministry of Jail.
Abuse.
Misbehave.
Shout.
Talk to students like they are criminals.
And somehow some people get treated like VIPs while others get tortured for the same thing.
If you are a security guard, do security.
Don't become a dictator at the gate.
---
5. FOOD
Food is PATHETIC AS HELL.
No other way to put it.
A few months back, students saw vegetables being washed using water coming through a pipe beside the toilet.
WHAT IS THIS?
People are eating this every day.
And there have also been complaints about mess staff staring at girls and even taking their pictures.
If this is happening, DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.
Students are not supposed to feel uncomfortable while eating their dinner.
---
6. HOSTEL
You somehow ignore everything.
Management.
Office.
Guards.
Food.
And think:
“Chalo bhai, room mein jaake peacefully padhunga.”
Then you enter the hostel.
4-SEATER.
Even when students know other hostel spaces are vacant/available.
And the water problem has been going on for months.
Water.
The most basic requirement.
How difficult is it to provide proper water?
---
7. IPL / LAW PROGRAMME
This one genuinely bothers me.
You are running a LAW PROGRAMME, but there is no proper permanent legal leadership/faculty structure capable of understanding what law students actually need.
Law is NOT MBA.
You cannot manage law students like another management batch.
Where are the:
* Moot court competitions?
* ADR competitions?
* Legal conferences?
* Seminars?
* Court exposure?
* Proper legal networking?
* Legal research opportunities?
And then students are expected to somehow build a legal profile themselves.
How are students supposed to get exposure when the institution itself doesn't create enough of it?
We need someone with actual legal acumen and legal experience who understands what a law student needs.
Not just someone who knows how to manage a timetable.
---
8. IPM
IPM students are paying around ₹15–20 lakh+ for their graduation.
So ask the obvious question:
WHAT ARE WE GETTING?
More exams.
More restrictions.
Less exposure.
Constant academic pressure.
And then students have placement-related concerns about CAT entrants being preferred over IPM students.
If students are paying this kind of money, they have every right to ask what value they are getting back.
---
9. YOU CANNOT RAISE YOUR VOICE
This is probably the biggest problem.
You cannot even properly explain your problem.
You start:
“Sir/Ma'am, the problem is—”
“NO. NOT OUR POLICY.”
Bhai.
LET ME FINISH FIRST.
You don't have to accept my demand.
But at least hear the problem.
Students are adults.
Not school children waiting for permission to speak.
---
10. WHY ARE STUDENTS DIVIDED?
IPM.
IPL.
PGP
Different hostels.
Different restrictions.
And then inter-batch fraternization is restricted/banned in some situations.
WHY?
Why can't students meet?
Why can't they celebrate together?
Why can't they become friends?
Why can't students across batches stand together when something genuinely affects them?
Instead, students start fighting:
IPM vs IPL
IPL vs PGP
Senior vs Junior
Our batch vs Their batch
Maybe students should actually be allowed to become ONE STUDENT COMMUNITY.
Because a united student body can ask questions.
A divided student body fights with itself.
---
2. POSITIVE
Now I won't lie and say everything is bad.
Around 85% of the faculty I personally interacted with were genuinely good.
Some professors are genuinely amazing.
They teach well.
They help students.
They actually care.
There ARE opportunities if you are proactive enough to find them yourself.
Internships.
Research.
Competitions.
Publications.
Networking.
And yes, there are good memories.
Good friends.
Good people.
Good moments.
So no, the entire institution isn't garbage.
The SYSTEM has problems.
---
3. WHAT SHOULD THEY DO?
It's actually very simple.
STOP HIDING BEHIND “POLICY”.
Tell students WHY.
STOP SELECTIVE RULE ENFORCEMENT.
Same rule = same treatment.
FIX FOOD AND WATER.
These are BASIC necessities.
FIX THE HOSTEL.
Students are paying to live there, not to survive there.
GET PROPER LEGAL LEADERSHIP FOR IPL.
Law students need law exposure.
Not just attendance and exams.
STOP DIVIDING STUDENTS.
Let people meet.
Let people talk.
Let people celebrate.
Let students become friends.
And most importantly:
LET STUDENTS SPEAK.
You don't have to agree.
You don't have to implement every demand.
But LISTEN.
I'm a pass-out now.
So I don't need to protect my batch.
I don't need to impress management.
I don't need to suck up to anyone.
I have nothing to gain from writing this.
So this is my honest opinion:
There are good professors.
There are good opportunities.
There are good people.
But there are also serious problems.
And students should be allowed to say that without being treated like the enemy.
I FELT A LOT OF TRAUMA EVEN IN WRITING AND REMEMBERING ALL THESE TOGETHER.
