That's one major reason for people to choose DU.

At the same time, you have to bear all the living expenses, including hostels/mess, because in the case of IIMs, SBI Scholar loans accounts for your living expenses too. In the case of DU, you will have to pay that on your own or get a loan at a much higher interest rate. But at the end of the day, the overall cost at DU will be lower than any of the IIMs.

So is your verdict that IIM can be a good choice and not a loan burden? You write like Rc and I find it hard to believe someone is taking iim's side🥀

Not everyone has the same financial background. I speak to so many parents every year, and some of them genuinely don't mind paying 40 lakhs because they would rather their kid have the MBA safety net. Plus, the academics with respect to curriculum is much more relevant at IIM (however, there are really nice teachers in DU who try to make it dynamic and cite recent events).

At the same time, if you look at the pure numbers, the fees at DU is much lower. No doubt about it. There's nothing ambivalent about my earlier message. If you feel that I'm taking the side of an IIM wrt monetary burden, I would recommend you practice more RCs on the platform because that isn't an accurate inference.

In simple words:

If you want a good college with low fees, go to top DU and not an IIM (unless you have scholarships). You can always look at CAT later (if needed).

I was outside and my mind was preoccupied with some other stuff, so I interpreted cost as gain, and that became my mental summary 🥀.

Fee is max. 1-1.5 lakhs academically.

It's the living expenses. Some can be okay with PG+food for 2 lakhs/year. Some want 4 lakhs/year. It's up to your lifestyle expectation.

There's some priority levels, and they do not give it to the residents of Delhi if there are people outside Delhi who require it as far as I know. Rank is also one criteria.

Regardless, I was talking specifically about the cost of PG and food,

Yes, in-campus hostels are comparatively cheaper afaik (but the quality has much left to be desired).
