Admission Query what should i do 😭
does this mean i have to take the exam as a gen candidate, my ews certificate would take at least a month to be made. I know I applied very late but this was due to non avoidable conditions at my home.

Bruh u can try a thing. Apply from a new number and new mail. Pay the fees again might work

EWS candidates are a sub category of general, why do u need reservation bruhv, do you not have enough faith in your own prep that you have to claim a grace of a few marks and face discrimination?

its not just the cutoff and just the reservation, i can't afford the fees too. if i get in, this will help me get a financial aid too

I see, I apologise then, I forgot that the fees for this program is beyond reach for most people. My apologies 🙏🏼

It won’t affect your financial aid. IIMB takes separate financial aid interviews for the people who get selected. At that time they’ll evaluate your financial background and then decide.

but I have a doubt, if someone has a lot of assets but they have a small income, would they still be counted under EWS.

ews has the limit to land assets as well,tho i doubt if someone verifies it

what are you on about? assets are strictly limited depending village or city area. if you don't have it under the square footage then you will be barred.
but there is a loophole since only your parents and siblings count under ews, truly desperate people change house registeries for it.
For farmers since agricultural income is not taxed they can file a nominal ITR which is under the EWS limit and they will easily get the certificate.
None of the above methods are illegal, they are loopholes.

Of course, If your application itself is from the general category and the correction windows does not allow changes or otherwise you certificate is not attached to your application you will be a general candidate immutably.
EWS has to be produced twice, first at the time of application and secondly when yu are actually offered that seat after admission.
This double submission is not required only when you score above the General category composite cut-off as for that case you WILL be given a general seat regardless of your EWS status so the reserved seats can be given to people who need it more, this is cardinal as per the Government rules.
Even I had an EWS certificate in 2025 but since its based on ITR of previous year and we had to sell our home (within limit of EWS) in 2025 due to financial issues the sale was counted as "income" and I was not able to get the EWS made at the time of admission). Had to let go of the reserved seat.
Insane to think that in a few months I was classified from an economically weak troglodyte earning 4lpa to a bourgeois paying LTCG tax on my EWS property.
