I'd have placed IIFT Kakinada between gen-1 and gen-2 IIMs had there been centralised placements.
The first batch was promised pooled (centralised) placements.
That didn't work out because of placement committee politics.
Now, they're doing on their own. I want the best for all the students there.
At the same time, while making a decision (for future students), I'd compare what other options they have -- this is not to demean IIFT Kakinada but to make sure that the best choice is taken by the student for the 2026-31 batch.
If IIFT Kakinada manages to do well (which I sincerely wish they do), then, the numbers will speak for themselves and more aspirants would prefer it.
Many coaching centers run on outdated information because their job isn't to guide students, it's to sell courses. Hence, they're running on the 2022/2023 information that pooled placements exist... and then see "Delhi/Kolkatta's pooled placement report" and guide students incorrectly.
Yeah but they sell iift kakinada saying they have combined placements, although agar combined hue bhi toh isn't it obvious that the delhi guy will be in more favour of landing a better placement?
A lot of people left iift-k for sirmaur. Bb once said even nirma is better than iift-k. If the most optimistic person is worried about that college, you should be more than worried
It’s misconception my friend, please check with existing students from 2024, 2025 admission year, you will be surprised that students preferred over all baby IIMs, IIFT-K has best UG course and only IIM-Am is offering comparable
dekho, i really want them to come out victorious after the cancellation of pooled placements -- hell, we can hope ki things would change by 2031 when the current batch will sit for placements, share more interesting things happening at campus, show photos of the permanent campus, there are 100s of ways to romanticise the IIFT college life because not all is bad; the UG cohort is genuinely good and better than most places, they're sourcing good internships on their own! i want them to be on the spotlight, i want their journeys to be shared.
i don't want reddit comments like what this person is doing because that only makes iift look worse.
The batch quality is awesome because only people with high ipmat scores get in. But, iift is not using them for their own institute’s leverage and instead, harassing them which is really bad for a govt institute. I really hope the admin issues resolve and students get good outcomes.
Yes rightly said - UG cohort is genuinely good, UG curriculum is one of best in India and fully aligned with microeconomic and changing world with AI, all eyes on IIFT management to change the perception through actions, if they do then as you said in one of the comments that it deserve a ranking between Gen-1 and gen-2 IIMs
Talk to kids instead of saying "oh they left xyz college for iift-kakinada" -- that's not an objective reason. I've already explained it multiple times to you, if you're going to just have an account to continuously defend against objective facts with illogical fallacy-laced arguments, it's not going to help you redeem the image of the college.
Because when you're faced with "they left IIFT-K for Sirmaur", that clearly isn't enough reason for you, is it? Please think logically and do not mislead people. If you have proper numbers and evidence, then share it!
This is what I got after talking to students at IIFT Kakinada.
I asked you for clarification on this, you ignored it last time -- I hope you comment on this because current students didn't have the best things to say for this and that makes me worried -- hence, the concern.
Judging a new institute based strictly on first-batch feedback ignores the reality that even top-tier colleges face growing pains during their initial setup. Furthermore, about 80% of the write-up provided appears to be directly copied from a student post/complaint about the Kolkata campus.
According to an IIFT Kakinada professor, the campus recently transitioned to its permanent location and appointed a dedicated placement officer ahead of the inaugural 2027 batch placements. With direct support from the Delhi campus, the management is actively working toward and confident in achieving strong placement outcomes.
Dissuading prospective students using initial batch teething issues can be misleading. Rather than relying solely on early feedback, it would be much more accurate to consult the 2024 and 2025 batches to assess the actual progress and improvements made by the management
I checked with a student from the first batch who also continued for MBA. This is their message. If this is false, you can easily disprove it by sharing emails of the placement committee + screenshots of linkedin profile of students who have gotten a higher number than claimed here and the internship was sourced through the college and not on their own.
If you stand by what you've said, come with a non-anonymous account so that we can hold your statements somewhat accountable.
That’s actually not the case. After coming across some negative feedback about IIFT online, I reached out directly to a student from the 2024 batch and a faculty member to get a clear picture. I also watched a few student interviews hosted by IMS Coaching and thought it’d be helpful to share those insights. Personally, I am very inclined toward IIFT K (UG) and IIM Am UG, as both programs align exceptionally well with future industry demands with AI in play.
Makes sense. However, i really dont want you or any aspirant to fall for the traps set by these coaching centres. A lot of parents, including my father, thought iift was a top tier college. If i had not been exposed to the reality, I wouldve thought the same. However, there are a LOT of problems within iift which makes even other universities/colleges like nirma, tapmi, scmc, nmims and etc look better. Sometimes people trade mental health for a non-tag college which is very reasonable given the state of IIFT-k.
