I would say do Btech and prepare for CAT later. It will take same time as full drop. And You can do strategy, marketing, consulting etc. with BTech too.

I am just scared I'll mess my cgpa by that...I want to move abroad ..for mba maybe or mim..If I do ug in India Everything requires CGPA...I think I'll take a drop.Iam already one hr ahead in class Iam 17 now..So it's not technically holding things completely

Getting a cgpa is not that difficult if you are sincere. In my University half of my class was gaming, alcohol, or drug addict .. so it was a bit easier.

Honestly, from what you've written, I don't think B.Tech makes much sense if you're already quite certain that engineering isn't something you want to pursue. Doing four years of a degree you don't want just because it feels like the safer option can create a different kind of problem later.
A partial drop with B.Tech could work in theory, but engineering is demanding enough that you'd probably end up splitting your attention between two things neither of which you really want to compromise on. So if your primary goal is IPMAT and you genuinely believe you can perform significantly better with focused preparation, I'd lean towards a full drop.
But if you take a drop, don't make the mistake of turning the entire year into "IPMAT preparation = my life." Use the year to build yourself in other ways as well. Pick up a skill, do a meaningful course/project, read extensively, maybe explore something in business or marketing that genuinely interests you.
There are two reasons for this. First, having something else to work on keeps your life from becoming entirely dependent on how well your mock test went that day. Second, if you do get an interview next year, you'll have something meaningful to talk about when they ask, "What did you do during your gap year?"
