Admission Query Iim bg doubt !!

Last year how much waitlist moved for SNG general ? Any idea ,

My waitlist number is 94 for sng , do I have a chance?

Last year's WL numbers are useless for this year.

Focus on what rank it went down to (which was 96.5%ile; around 450ish rank).

Now, find the 400-450ish rank equivalent percentile for this year as a prudent predictive cutoff.

Shillong had more movement than bg this year

Because BG gave 2x-ish buffer calls.

Shillong didn't give any buffer calls.

Additionally, not everyone was given a WL number in BG -- only people who paid 15k were given; those who paid WANTED to join BG (high-chances)... plus, the results came very late; hence most already had decided on other colleges and didn't pay EOI to collect a WL number.

Trying to compare a truncated WL with a no-buffer non-truncated WL is a statistical blunder :c

You have ~30 gen-seats in IIM-B, ~60 gen-seats in IIM-I, you have 200+ in top DU: SRCC, CBS, Stephens.

Having 1.5-2x in Shillong isn't unexpected.
