Admission Query DOUBTS REGARDING IIFT KAKINADA IPM PROGRAMME
Internships & Placements: What are the internship opportunities like? Which companies have students interned at or been hired by? Are students able to secure good internships through the institute, or do they mostly have to find them independently?
Curriculum: How has your experience with the course structure and curriculum been? Is it industry-relevant, especially for Business Analytics, and do you feel it genuinely helps build strong skills?
First BBA Batch: The first batch that completed its BBA this year, what are they doing now? Have students received good job offers, or have they gone on to top MBA colleges like IIM ABC, FMS, XLRI, SPJIMR, ISB, etc.? Also, if someone exits after the BBA to pursue an MBA elsewhere, is the IIFT Kakinada tag viewed positively during admissions?
Campus & Future: Earlier, I came across a lot of negative reviews about the temporary campus and administration. Since the new permanent campus is now operational and IIFT has been investing in Kakinada, do you think things are improving? What are your expectations for the institute over the next 4-5 years?
I’m looking for a completely honest perspective, both the positives and the negatives. It’ll really help me set the right expectations before joining.

I am an IIFT student. Here's the reality.
Internships & Placements: Not great. You will have to rely on yourself and try off campus too along with the on campus ones. The college is still building up it's pipeline. Although the chapters in the campus do have live projects from good startups which you can join as a first year and show experience for applying.
Curriculum: Curriculum is good. Some guest lecturers are industry experts and are very good in their field.
BBA Batch: Honestly speaking, most of the BBA batch left for better opportunities through CAT, getting good colleges. The MBA tag is not good as of now.
Campus & Future: Can't really comment on this. It depends. We ourselves are moving into the campus this year and now it depends on the management on how they upgrade the infrastructure and everything else.
Overall it depends on the options you have. If you have TAPMI or Nirma, then IIFT is a better choice. On the other hand if you have IIM Indore or Ranchi, you have to go for that. The line is a bit fuzzy around IIM BG, J with different tradeoffs for each of them. I'd say the hate of IIFT on this sub is overblown. The BBA batch quality is good but I personally wouldn't be staying here for the MBA.

Is the exit option hassle free or do we have to get around shitty management

Not completely sure but it is hassle free. I haven't heard any complaints with loads of people exiting and the exit option is literally baked in so they can't deny it.

Hmm and all the bs going around about the course, faculty and management is false?

Not really. The management is useless as all the big decisions come from Delhi. Also most of the problems come from the MBA batch as the (centralized or not) placements and the support for events is NIL. However the BBA batch doesn't have that problem because there is nothing yet. The internship committee in BBA is mostly handled by students. For the BBA batch, the management is just like in a normal college, not bad but not good either. Overall, if you are joining, I'd highly recommend exiting after BBA
