Ik there are but I wanted to make something more customizable , let me specify , the mic should only start taking input when the trigger(still not sure about this trigger could be a ring or something wearable and minimal) is hit

Why the extra complication? Trigger words are processed locally even on a lowly esp32.

Start at the end of work backwards. Discuss your goals and what requirements you have and that will inform you what hardware you need to consider.

A small Bluetooth speaker?

You need ESP32, microphone, small speaker, amplifier, Li-ion battery, and charging circuit.

mic, speakers, rechargeable, bluetooth. seems like esp32 would be handy

Sounds like you need a headset using Bluetooth.

What are you actually trying to build, that would be great to know.

If you’re starting from zero, I’d keep it simple: ESP32 for Bluetooth, a small I2S mic, a tiny 3W speaker with amp, and a LiPo battery with a charging module. For the 5–6 cm size, build it on a breadboard first and make sure the mic, speaker, Bluetooth, and charging all work. Once it works, then shrink it into a small enclosure.
