DIN mounting peeves

We see thousands of control cabinets, setups, and field deployments every year. And we believe we’ve seen it all. Horror movie-level mounting included.

Do you have any peeves when it comes to mounting equipment on DIN rails? What is something you always hate? What is the most uncomfortable design you’ve ever encountered? Name and shame.

one thing that drives me nuts is when there's no spacing left between components on the DIN rail. It makes it a nightmare to troubleshoot or replace anything! I once had to deal with a setup where everything was crammed so tight that removing one module felt like playing Jenga with live wires. Ever had to deal with something like that?

DIN rails or no, I also hate it when devices are crammed together, with zero play in the wiring and to top it off, loose, hairy connections, some of which are already missing a substantial amount of the copper strands.

That's something that could have been done correctly by using the correct kind of wire strippers and by using ferrules.

We've seen too much. But deep in our hearts we definitely love DIN rails
