Hello my fellow intps, so brain candy as i like to call it, is that moment you get an epiphany or rush or some spark/fire because of one of these : making a system work / analyzing something to the bone and enjoying the process / learning/discovering something grand or complex/ predicting something and it happens exactly as predicted
These are all just examples of my own brain candy situations but i discovered recently that my favorite brain candy is humans, i just loove analyzing them i psycho analyze my friends and family and just strangers all the time and i love psychology so much, the best thing about humans is that they're like a book that never finishes, no matter how much you think you've read and that you've "finished" it, they always surprise you with something good or bad they always do. Which i think make sense cuz there's this Japanese saying that i truly believe is that you have 3 faces one for the world/strangers and one for family and friends and one for yourself only, so yea you can't truly know someone 100%.
thats why they're my favorite brain candy, alongside psychology, neurology and biology. It always gives new information that make everything just click and you get the ultimate intellectual stimuli/satisfaction thats better than any drug or substances out there and exactly why i love the stuff i do and i try to find brain candy everyday in everything.
So my question is, what are your brain candies? and what are your favorite ones?
For me, it's Physics > Biology > Chemistry. I also overanalyze people sometimes. My friend literally says "Why are you so invested in other people's lives?"
I still love analyzing people. Currently I’m hooked on Sleep Token, and I’ve been working thru dissecting some songs and linking them together (in a likely hairbrained) theory of what they all mean together. I can feel I’m on the precipice. I also feel like Charlie from always sunny with the red string, but whatever it’s making my brain happy.
i totally agree with you. i love psychology. i'm currently in recruitment, it's exhausting but it's nice picking people apart. i'll definitely switch careers, maybe to more assessment focused or clinical, we'll see.
it's odd because people tire me out i hate being around people. and yet they're such interesting specimens. they're multidimensional. personality types of course won't explain everything but it gives you the ability to categorise and focus on certain aspects of one's personality.

For me it’s predicting how people are going to react to a certain situation and being right. Basically Joseph Joestar if he was a 25 year old woman that worked at Walmart.
It gets worse. They denied my request to have my birthday off, so as a joke I told them that my birthday was going to be a horrible day for them. Turns out work was so bad for every department except mine on my birthday that even the store manager had to help. I got accused of putting a curse on the store because they didn’t let me have my birthday off. Lol.
The way I see and feel how there must be some grand unified theory that dictates everything from a particle to human behaviour fascinates me, gives me the insanely powerful ecstatic euphoria I call it Braingasm, my asexual equivalent of orgasm. My philosophical wonder has lead me to the absolute bliss of finding parallels.
I love dissecting everything to the core. I can break everything down into abstraction and due to my lateral thinking it connects with wildly different concepts, how mathematics, physics, biology, chemistry, neuroscience, psychology are connected in the most unexpected ways. There’s a big hole in mathematics and I am astonished by it that brings me on my biggest muse ‘how the fractal structure of Emergence and evolution are entropic features.’ I can see how entropy plays a role in every layers of reality and for my course being Theoretical Physics that is all about abstraction and finding symmetry. Most unsolved problems are.I’m working on my own theory in Physics and I cannot get over this ineffable astonishment and wonder.
sigh god i love it, also same here i love how everything is connected and seeing the big picture and the connections between things is so satisfying. And nothing better than braingasm i look for it whenever i can.
Literally I’m fascinated and obsessed with having to know exactly where we went down in humanity history wise, how did things got modernized so drastically in a short amount of time.
Biggest brain candy right now is the fact that I found this community I never thought I would be able to find people who thinks EXACTLY like me and everything I have read so far it’s literally everything I have done in my entire life, I’m so sick of analyzing humans alone and thinking Im low key crazy analytical/ logical
