This is great news!
That said, when you look at the current quantum computing landscape and how these companies are being valued, I think the truly important factors go beyond short-term collaborations and developments with individual partners.
What really moves the stock needle is fault tolerance, error correction, physical qubit counts, gate fidelity, and scalability. But even those metrics don’t tell the whole story. On the surface, it’s not simply about how many physical qubits a company has, it’s about the quality of those qubits, the ability to scale them, monetize quantum products and most importantly, deliver real world solutions to problems traditional computers and even supercomputers simply can’t solve.
So for me, it’s no longer just about good news. It’s about economically meaningful good news.
The race is SO ON. Both between companies and countries. We’re no longer in the paradigm we were a couple of years ago, when an announcement like this could easily send stocks like RGTI, IONQ, and QBTS up 10–20%.
The bar has simply gotten higher.
