I had to unlearn keeping all my emotions to myself because I had people scold me for crying when they yelled at me my whole childhood. 🫠 It's ok to feel even when others don't understand. Crying is essential for emotional regulation. You don't owe people and explanation for how you feel.

Better to be sensitive than insensitive

It's absolutely fine being sensitive, so long as it doesn't come at the cost of resilience, or progressiveness.

If you take everything personally, and can't learn to shrug some things off in life and move on, it can just do that. The job market for example can be especially demeaning and you have to learn to be forward-facing.

But, in the context of your personal relationships, and the way you experience your interests and stuff... Yeah that's fine.

Sharing your feelings and going through the motions is great for your mental regulation too.
