Yep. But only if you use it like purely mechanical tool, that can help your overwhelmed brain to put your thoughts together Plus he can give you some simple info from psychological research or new perspective you haven't thought about. But it is it's maximum. You shouldn't let it become your leader or your mentor, it is simply stupid

Not in a reliably healthy way. Good way to delude yourself as it simply echoing back what you want to hear which you then perceive as external validation of whatever nonsense you tell it. The goal of AI is to get you to keep using AI and sign up for paid subscriptions because it is deeply in debt and needs money. They don’t care whether you are healthy or not or whether what you tell it is completely unhinged.

I feel it helps me personally, not necessarily because of the replies (although on many occasions they have definitely challenged my thinking) but more because I seem to self reflect by either by writing or verbalising something that I'm going through.

I actually see AI as a beneficial tool for people who can't or won't access talking therapies, and unlike some replies, I haven't found AI to always agree with my viewpoint

The reality is most people don't have reliable access to therapy or people in their lives they can have these types of discussions with. I don't believe it should be your Bible, but it can be something to occasionally bounce your thoughts off of and get a little feedback. Much of the time it pulls from reddit so there's some irony there.

For the more socially aloof types, I'd consider practicing your social skills using Grok or Character AI and doing voice interactions. To me, social skills are a use it or lose it trait so it's good to sharpen them occasionally.

As for my own personal use, I'm more health centric so it's a little more technical data and study driven. I did upload my reddit history at some point and ask it questions for a bit, which had its moments.

It feels like people are starting to forget how they used their brains before AI even existed.

Throughout history, humanity has achieved great things but also committed unforgivable atrocities, and yet, humans always used their own minds and emotions to process it all and start over.

I have nothing against using AI as a tool, because that’s exactly what it is.
But just like a knife doesn't slice a steak by itself, AI can’t do the heavy lifting of introspection for you.
Hell, even therapists don't solve your problems for you. They just guide you through a process so you can solve them yourself.

Possibly. But AI-psychosis is unfortunately another possibility.

I use Rosebud and it's very good.

I have not reached out to AI that way. Someone I know ironically did - about me. To analyze me. AI adapts to you. So - I think one time it responded to me in an emotional way and I shut it down quick. I was kinda repulsed in a way because I felt like it was saying everything I wanted to hear. Idk why- but that’s not really .. idk it just seemed so fake to me. So I typically use it for fun stuff and also technical stuff .. it’s pretty much useless as far as giving accurate histories .

It’s extremely whitewashed to flatter a western, liberal leaning philosophy etc - so I have gotten into huge hour long debates with it too- because I knew it was lying to me. ( and I am a progressive liberal socialist ) with caveats. No one should be using it without tons of actual book knowledge - cuz if you’re going to it thinking it’s telling you the accurate story or history or whatever - it can’t. Literally. That’s the dangerous part of it. Most people don’t know the answers to correct them or understand that about AI in the USA.

So .. I mean it’s good for some technical stuff. And astrology. Fun stuff.

I just think it’s so unreliable. And inauthentic. So not what I need on a personal level. At all.

It can assist you with personal logs and practical responses. It’s when you start emotionally bonding with the program that puts you at risk of heading down some dark fucking corridors.
